What time do you reckon these guys will get to the ring? It says 6pm PST, but I'm thinking that's the start time for the whole card, not this fight.
They're showing Kahn and Macarinelli on the same night here in the UK, but our fight coverage starts at 10pm. I don't know if I wanna sit up til 5am waiting for Hoya/Pacquiao.

I don't got me no DVR!
If I record stuff, it goes on the shelf and then I forget to watch it, or the missus tapes over it. >:(
I don't mind sitting up to watch it, it's just a pain cos they're showing UK fights at 10pm, then US fights 6/7 hours later.

PACMAN by TKO late rounds... ;) ;) ;)

Getting in your bush jokes , when you still can I see. ::)
-
I hope the filipino wins. He is in my golf tournament next year in Hawaii and it will sound better if he beats dela Hoya.
-
Getting in your bush jokes , when you still can I see. ::)
Might as well while he's still around. I like the new guy, he seems alright, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
To be fair, Bush did the US's international reputation a lot of harm.

I know. :( I did watch the election night, and I like WWE, does that count for anything? :D
It's all shits and giggles, you get to kill people who step on your property, we get free healthcare. It's all good.

No, the government pay for it out of our taxes. But I can quite happily break my leg and go to hospital without having to worry about insurance.
-
I call Pacman for the win.
-
I'm thinking Pacquiao here as well, he's prob the best pound for pound right now. Although I'd like De la Hoya to win, to build up the fight with Hatton. Either way I don't really mind, as long as it's a good fight.
-

I don't have to worry either, it's called benefits. ;)

De la Hoya will win.

"Huge" is KO, no?
-
If Oscar wins then whoop dee do ...he is a bigger fighter with a longer reach and a better boxer. But Pacquiao (who comes from the same part of the Philippines I come from ) will bring it to him. Not that its a special strategy but that's just how he fights. With that said I think that there will be a knock out. Looking back at Oscars last fights he has done nothing special, other than knock out Myorga (some guy who smokes ciggrettes b/t rounds) he has been acting his age. Manny has only gotten better with each match and is in his prime. I dont think Oscar has found the fountain of youth and might see the canvas, manny is in top form and will make it a brawl, oscar is an old man looking froward to the paycheck and not the fight. Manny P KO Rd. 5
-
Oscar is gonna be the winner making 40 million. Also if he wins he's gonna say he's the P4P champion and call out Mayweather for 09. He'll make well over 40 million for that re-match. I just cannot see it happening though. He's lost his fighters spirit some years ago. He cannot handle Manny's work rate and no doubt will fade after round six like he always does! De La Hoya is a genious at marketing no doubt. But Manny Pacquioa is coming to fight! Manny by decision. Pacquio/Mayweather for the P4P summer of 09.
-
He makes more as a promoter then a fighter.

Maccarinelli's fight with Alvarez is off.

He makes all the money because he promotes his own fights. Thats why Mayweather refused to fight him because Oscar wants control of everything or he won't do it. Smart guy. Really has done well for himself.

There's been a lot of talk about the winner of this fight taking on Ricky Hatton next year. Apparently De la Hoya has been interested in the idea of selling out Wembley.

u shud bet on the rounds Pacman would KO oscar.
Pacquioa knocking out Oscar 9th round, 89-1

Mayweather is the man everyone wants. Mayweather made more then 50 million in 07. With the economy and all his spending. How much do you think he actually has left? Mayweather is the biggest money fight no matter who his opponent is. If Oscar wins he's gonna claim P4P champion and call out Mayweather. He's the #1 target. No doubt Mayweather is coming back in 09. The money is way more important then retiring undefeated.

Man that sounds like a great way to watch it! One of the servers I'm working with is from the Philippines and is ecstatic about this fight! I truly believe that anyone that thinks Oscar will win by KO hasn't seen too many of Manny's fights. Manny is ferocious and still a very hungry fighter. Oscars prime was ten years ago. Pacman by decision.
-
I just watched some of Audley Harrison's fight. It's becoming rediculous how delusional he is about himself. He really thinks he's gonna win something, but the bottom line is he's too lazy. He just stands there, waiting for people to hit him. I think the stats showed he landed 60 punches in 10 rounds.
-
gayest fight ever. De la Hoya made serious $$$ because it is the promoter tho.
-
Oscar only has two, possible three fights left. Trinidad, Roy Jones, and a rubber match against Mosley. I bet tonight and won. Congradulations on Oscars success. !00 million on his last three fights. Manny handed it to him though. All the very best to the Filopino Getbiggers! Manny/Mayweather 09. Did anyone catch the calves on Pacman? Manny was seriously put together for this fight! Chest was ripped up!
-
President of the Hispano chamber of commerce
Didn't you hear? They traded him to the whites for Rose McGowan after this last fight ;D
-
Pacquiao makes me pretty damn happy to be Filipino right now. He chumped Oscar bad, and Manny was humble as hell in the post fight interview too. His personality outside of the ring is so different from his in-ring personality its crazy.
-
hatton v pacman would be a great fight,,, very evenly suited, mayweather would kill him tho.......
best fight of the night wouldnt have been shown in the US.... carl froch v pasqual for the super middleweight belts... toe to toe for 12 rounds, thats why boxing will always be the sport of kings

ha won back the 250 i lost on on the bama game
-
Great post! No doubt Oscar had everyone fooled. The best part of his loss last night was seeing Bob Arum in the interview at the end. This fight was personnal between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions. From here on in it's gonna fall apart for The Golden Boy. It was worth the 40 million no doubt. But any fight he takes from here on in nobody is going to believe he can win. He has three fights left. Against Trinidad, Roy Jones, and a rubber match against Mosley. Like all fighters Oscar De La Hoya will continue to fight. I have been looking forward to seeing him get beaten bad and can't wait to see it happen again in the future!

Using your logic ODH beat Trinidad and beat Mosley in their rematch, he was a great fighter period
-

As for Pacquiao, bring on Floyd Mayweather!
exactly...he is going jump on a fight w/pac for $20M, will counter punch the crap out of him like hatton. FMW has no interest in big guys like P Williams who can punch down on him or Mosley who would force him to work and fight for 12 rds. He could pat Marg to death for a 12rd decision.
-

Mayweather would never fight Margarito.
-
haha love all the oscar predictions when in fact he didn't show up and is WASHED UP. He was nothing more than a punching bag.
-
He should have came out for the last round and took his beating like a man. Look forward to seeing him loose again soon. No doubt he will continue to fight.
-

That makes no sense, he already did that in the preceding rounds.

Oscar has had a great career and will be in the Boxing HOF. He has fought every big named fighter in his era for the most part and has gotten PAID doing it. being gold medalist and a pro since i believe 1992 up until now he has had a hugely successful career. with as many shots to the head as he has taken im sure he would know the difference between "loose" and "lose" ::)
Perhaps Oscar is done but he has nothing to be ashamed of thats for sure, every fighter/athlete gets old its funny to see people bash them when they do like it erases their past accomplishments. they busted their ass to get to the level their at and they can end their career however they choose.
-
hahah i told you Manny was going to end this cat early ....
-
He could pat Marg to death for a 12rd decision.
Not a chance in hell Margarito by early round KO
-
Margarito seems too big for a welterweight. I don't know how he keeps making weight.
-
That wasn't Oscar in the ring. That was a shadow of himself. And for Oscar to take those shots and keeps his legs and not buckle shows he's one tough dude.
I love how some people said he was picking on a smaller man. He knowingly went in fighting the P4P best and there's a reason for that title -- manny is no joke nor has ever been. The dude is a killer, and obviously for a great fighter well past his prime makes for a dangerous match up. I thought Oscar was nuts when I first heard he chose to fight him
-
PACMAN will destroy margarito... ;D ;D ;D
