Title: Just bought a rice cooker
Post by: darksol on December 08, 2008, 03:45:59 AM
My wife and I just ordered a rice cooker off newegg.com.  it has a keep warm setting, so it will keep my rice perfect for several days.  Makes things easy since I hate preparing meals.  I am going to give a try at a new diet.  300 calories every 3 hours.  Is rice a good source of carbs if I am trying to lean out?

I would keep the rice refridgerated, which will be fine for several days. The keep warm function is for serving purposes right after it's cooked.

I highly doubt that. Like princess said just put it in the fridge.

very very very true, take it from me shit will mold if left in there for a few days...the warm function is meant to be used like Princess L said just right after its cooked.

i eat most of it each day, and put the rest into the fridge to eat the next day.

i'd never leave it in there overnight.  Once it's been sitting out all day, I pitch it.  Rice is cheap enough that I can just make more.

if you're left with that much left over, either eat more, or make less.
