From The Wrestling Observer:
Over the past few weeks, Anderson Silva's manager, Ed Soares recently had a meeting with UFC's President, Dana White on who will be the next opponet for the middleweight champion. Indeed he will be making a return to the 205 division, it is just a matter of fighting a fight for Anderson Silva. Even though we have heard great matchups rumored to be for him, there is said to be frustration, and that no one is willing to fight with Anderson Silva or there are already fights lined up for the fighters that would be interested in fighting him.
Ed Soares recently commented on the situation:
"It is really hard to try and pick a fighter to match with Anderson Silva when usually everyone is already ready to fight someone else. Me and Dana met and talked and have not came to a conclusion about a possible opponet for Anderson Silva. We will meet again in the next 3 weeks, and we hope to have a fight for him. I think it will be the 205 division. He wants to get back in January. So we will have to see."
Also to add on the side that the fights who were interested in fighting him, they were already booked to fight in the coming months. Ed Soares thinks that with the upcoming results of the upcoming fights, there should be an available fight for Anderson Silva very soon.

I'd like to see him fight either wandy or shogun.
Would be sweet.

it'll be chuck IMO. Big money for UFC
I'd like to see Machida vs. Silva. Awesome striker vs. awesome counter attacker. Would be kick ass

Everything that I have read said that Chuck is not interested in fighting Anderson, (he knows the outcome of top tier striker vs. striker on his way out!) I think it would be cool to see him fight Houston Alexander as another entrance fight, Kieth Jardine would be cool as well. I think him and Kieth could put on a real show.
-
I bet it will be the winner of Forest/Evans or the winner of Rampage/Wandy.
Machida would be a sick fight for true MMA fans, but the general newer fan's would not see it that way.
-
Machida trains with him and is far inferior to him in terms of skill- No way they fight and if they did I think it would be super boring. It would probably be the two of them circling around with Anderson eventually connecting with a head kick and putting Machida's lights out or going to the ground with Machida either getting pounded to oblivion or resisting getting hit until Anderson submits him.
For a competitive fight there has to be an opponent who can strike and grapple well- Maybe Wandy. I love Forrest but hes a dope striker/ so-so grappler.
Personally I would like to see Anderson bury Bisping and fight GSP.
-
I would love to see Chuck. But I don't think they will get this matchup until Chuck gets a few wins under his belt. Keith Jardine would provide a spectacular KO for Anderson, though. Wandy is a fighter they are building, so I don't think they want that.

the ufc and joe silva are leaning to pit anderson up against another striker imo,joe silva knows how to make exciting fights most of the time,id like to see anderson fight a guy who will take it to him so we dont get a snooze fest with 2 guys circling each other for 15 minutes, someone mentioned housten, thats a good one imo, housten will bring out the best in anderson imo.wandy wont fight anderson unless the money was overwhelming, even though they are no longer teammates i heard they are still cool.chuck would be intersting imo,it would bring chucks stock sky high again if he knocks out anderson.on the flip side its a dangerous fight for chuck cause if he gets knocked it again hes career would be hurtin

it's gonna be the winner of Forrest/Rashad. Dana wants Silva to hold 2 belts..

I think that this is crazy. No way it would ever happen. He is doing that with Penn and GSP, if BJ wins they lose out on the money. Two champs, twice as many fights a year. Compared to having one champ hold two belts. The other thing is that within the 205 class you have so many characters and personality, no way do you want your P4P top fighter to have to cover two classes. JMO

I think more than anything, Dana wants one of his more "personable" fighters to beat Anderson. Anderson has already stated he wants to retire, and I like Anderson, but he does not have the draw that others have in either weight class.

Rampage
T Silva
Lidell (though prob an easy win for Silva)

Wouldn't it be something to see Houston KO Silva? Stranger things have happened and we know Houston likes to attack. THat being said he was useless on the ground in his last fight. Useless.
-
Alexander will get picked apart. It would make for an exciting KO, though. How did Sandman do against Houston?
-
i want shogun to fight anderson silva or a rematch between hendo
because hendo will win because he doesnt have to cut to 185
-
I'd love to see him and Wandy go!! I don't think chuck L is dumb enough to sign on the dotted line, as much as Dana might want that fight.

Ha, Irvin Ko'd him with a superman punch about 8 seconds into the first round, the proceeded to get ko'd with an off balance jab from Sylva. I don't think Alexander has half a chance, but the fact that he goes after opponents from jump would make for a highlight KO.

He would walk right into something. Too upright, head up, little to no head movement. Perfectly made for a precision striker.

you honestly think chuck will get a few more wins under his belt?
