i think Rocky was heavier in the first one, and got more ripped as the series continued

I dont think he was 180 for the 3rd one, he looks so small standing next to franco columbu and franco weighed around 180-200

Sylvester Stallone had trained with Franco Columbu to get in shape for Rocky II, so he knew the services of the two-time Mr. Olympia did not come cheap. Still when he heard the amount of the fee Franco would charge him for the next six weeks to train for his new film Rambo II: First Blood, he was shocked.

"Franco," he told the Sardinian, "why don't you just take my house and be done with it?"

"I had to charge Sly a good amount for the training," explains Franco, "because he wanted to train full out, just as if he were preparing for the Mr. Olympia contest. That meant two workouts a day, six days a week. I had to drop almost everything else in order to concentrate on getting him in the best shape of his life."

According to Franco, motivating his pupil was not that difficult because of Stallone's tremendous mental intensity and competitiveness. "Sly gives 100% all the time," Franco says, "and his determination is awesome. He is an achiever. A leader. He never sits back and let's things happen, he is the one who makes them happen.ö

"With Sly, I worked out a program that was right for him," Franco explains, "and then I led the way, constantly increasing weights and reps. I knew for sure that this would motivate him to try and keep up with me. If I took a weight and did 12 reps, Sly would have to try and do at least 7. After all, I may be stronger than he is, but not that much stronger. Then, next set, I would do 15 reps, so he would have to increase his reps to at least 10. By the end of our training, he was doing curls with 70- pound dumb-bells. You should have seen how strong he got!"

When Stallone first came to Franco to begin training, he was 170 pounds and very well defined. But he didn't feel he was big enough and wanted to put on 10 pounds of muscle in six weeks. Franco knew how hard Stallone was capable of training, so he decided that was a feasible goal.

"Sylvester gained just about 10 pounds in six and a half weeks," Franco says. "He has great structure, with a waist only about 29 inches. When we started, he had a 44-inch chest. At the end, his chest was almost 50 inches. And his arms went from 16 ¢ inches to 18 inches. He was bigger, harder and much more muscular. Wait until you see him in the movie. He's going to shock a lot of people by how good he looks."

From Muscle and fitness magazine

"I was 178 for Rocky, and 200 in Rocky II. For Rocky III I was 163. For my next film, Rocky IV, I went up to 173. I like this weight, because it is a fuller, rounder look, more in keeping with the old Roman athletes. I'm not quite as sinewy as I was in Rocky III, but I feel stronger."

Here is a quote from a 1991 interview with Longevity Magazine

Q: When did you learn what a good body was?

A: When I saw the Tarzan movie Greystoke, in 1984. I thought, that's what a perfect body looks like. I wanted to look like Tarzan - sleek, tight, almost catlike. I wanted to forget the bulk and go for well-developed muscles. I began a hardcore weight-lifting program, working out twice a day. When I made Rocky, I increased my exercise. But when I did Rambo III, I didn't like the way I looked anymore, so I decided to reshape myself. I went down to 168 pounds. I put on weight slowly and got sinewy, hard-cut muscles. I wound up weighing about 200. But it was all muscle - my body fat was down to 3.8 percent. Now my fat count is 6.8. I'm 5'10" and weight 187 pounds. I'm pleased with my body now.

Another Muscle and fitness quote

Concurrently, Stallone has immersed himself in a decidedly different project — launching a supplement company, InStone Nutrition. “InStone has been something I’ve thought about for 7–8 years,” he says. “I’ve experimented so much with my body, training and diet-wise, coming up with different looks for movies. For instance, in Cliffhanger I had to develop more leg and shoulder power; in Rocky 3 I got down to 2.8% bodyfat; and of course Cop Land, where I lost all that definition and gained 40 pounds.”
One key in turning his vision into reality was a hands-on approach. “I wanted to stand behind the product by saying, ‘I am the guinea pig,’” he explains. “This isn’t something that I’m just putting my name on. I think that would be quite a disappointment to people. I use the products, and I can safely say, everything is extraordinary. Each of these products is the best in the market in its particular niche.”
Making appearances for The Contender and promoting InStone, Sly is holding steady at a chiselled 196 pounds, 4%–7% bodyfat. Through the years, he’s learned an important lesson about diet and training: keep it simple. “I follow a high-protein diet: anything with a face, that’s what I eat, with something green next to it,” he says. “Over the years, my biggest flaw was overtraining. In the gym six days a week, doing more sit-ups at night…my body was in a constant state of breakdown. Now I focus on a variety of exercises, working out three times a week for 90 minutes per session. I really feel good — much stronger than I’ve ever felt, actually. Something’s working.”
That something will be revealed in depth in the coming months, as he takes the lessons he’s learned over the years and puts them to paper. “It’ll be a retrospective of how I’ve trained,” he says of a book he has in the works. “From the first time I changed my body for a role, going from 162 to around 200 to play the gang bully in [1974’s] Lords of Flatbush, to Rocky, how all that was done — what worked, what didn’t, the trials and tribulations. Hopefully the end result of my experimentation is that I make it easier for other people to transform themselves.”

180 lb. lol what a monster. I don't think he was strong at all in fact he doesn't qualify as a BB nor an athlete. Just a guy with a lot of free time who paid personal trainers and took dbol and other stuff to get whipped into shape.

David Morrell, author of the original 'First Blood' novel (as well as the novelizations of 'Rambo: First Blood Part II' & 'Rambo III') has just posted this news on his website DavidMorrell.net:

RAMBO V

I have reliable information that the fifth and probably final Rambo movie is definitely being planned. It’s only at the script stage for now, a first draft of which is about to be delivered to the producers. I don’t know anything about its plot, and I wouldn’t reveal anything even if I did—because I don’t want to betray a confidence. But it looks as if Rambo has one more adventure in him.

That was my buddy Paul Sullivan in Over The Top who is actually a direct descendant of John L Sullivan.  Paul got down to 200 or so and looked unreal ripped after Over the Top.  He was going to try boxing.  He never armwrestled though.  Last time I saw him was at the Olympia last year.  he has had some really bad luck in the several years.  He is a good guy and I hope he gets better.

Well my posts was from his own book so that's pretty solid info.

For people who thinks the weight is low one has to remember that he looks bigger than he weighs plus he's in shape and not carrying a lot of 'dead weight'
