Post by: bodybuilder1234 on December 18, 2008, 10:59:36 AM
Chris Bell posted this on Facebook:

ok, no disrespect to the guy or his family, but why would you donate money to the family?

People die everyday, why should this guys family get money and another family get jack shit?

We live in a world where people will donate to virtually anything.  If you started a charity called "Save the Rich" there are people who would donate to it. : ::)

Bigger Stronger Faster made $308,575 (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=biggerstrongerfaster.htm) at the box office, of which about half went to the theater owners.  after distribution and advertising, Chris might have made the equivalent of $10/hour for all his work.

but you can order it now on dvd (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001B7CNW4/)

Nah, screw all that. I downloaded that shit straight off the net, and enjoyed every minute of the documentary.

As far as Chris is concerned, he ain't gettin a damn dime from me.

All the marketing in the world would not have made this movie a draw.  bodybuilder1234 is correct: "nobody gives a shit about steroids and all of that crap."  The audience for this film was people mildly interested in bodybuilding, sports, & fitness.  In other words: schmoes.  In other words: getbig.

the trailer mentioned barry bonds, arnold, and hulk hogan

the mainstream is interested in those names and the word "steroids" is on the minds of sports fans today as much an anything

this movie would've done well if it was marketed, not one mention on espn or anything

i don't think any theater east of chicago carried it

I was a blockbuster maybe a month or so back, the guy in front of me ask for that movie. Yes, he was skinny. ::) The clerk said that they didn't have it, but a lot of people are requesting it, and he ask the guy to fill out a request card. When he was filling one out; I told him that the competing video store A few block down has it. the clerk just smile he knew the other store had it too. A little bit of a dick making that guy fill out a card, but i just his jobs on the line?
