Title: Toning thighs without bulking up too much
Post by: gilles on December 21, 2008, 08:23:06 AM

Hello everyone

I'm an ex-ballet dancer with a strong tendency to bulk up in the quad. area if I do any legwork. I used to have rock-hard inner thighs and upper hamstrings, but unfortunately, I've since gone quite soft.

I'm curious if there's any more focused exercises that I can do to target these areas, instead? Doing regular quad. stretches does seem to help elongate any muscle I build in the area, but I still feel like these muscles are overworking and taking the brunt of any leg exercise I do, to the deficit of other muscles.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

In all seriousness i think this has done more than anything for building up my groin if that is what you are looking to do. Of course a drop in body fat is the only thing that will make this come in hard.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I have a tendency to overwork my quads, but my inactivity for awhile has helped them decrease in size...I'd rather not build them up again.

I wish to build my inner thighs and hams and will definitely try the stiff legged dead-lift and the  sumo squat. The machine you posted seems very promising i'll look into that as well, thanks.
