torn my left distal bicep last night doing deadlifts, had 675 in the bar and about 3/4 of the way up POP and away it went. I tore my right distal bi on march of this year and its fully recovered but i guess i had to complete the torn bi set with both the left and right.

Shit :-\ hope you heal quickly man. I know how frustrating it is to have injuries holding you back

You need to get to the hospital ASAP.
If the tear is major, you probably need the surgery within 5-7 days, with the wound being fresh and all.

just as long as its done in the first 2-4 weeks you should be fine, unfortunately this is not my first bicep tear,

Sorry to hear that, Brent. Yes, you may want to cool it on the PL scene for a bit but I wouldnt give it up completely. Unless you think you're just not built for it?
Scary stuff. I have had a partial tear in the bicep, pec, and hamstring but never a full disconnect. Hope I never have to experience that!
-
dude that sucks..don't give it up though.. just heal up, take your time and slowly get back into it. AND you need to get surgery asap.. 2-4 weeks is imho... the worst thing you could do with an injury like this.

I've torn them both while deadlifting with the alternated grip. I know it is not a career ending injury.
-
Sorry to hear about that Brent...this is my first time really checking out this board and I am finding some good info but then I read your thread. :( sucks
I do have a question then, should I not use an alternate grip then? I had been just switching my grip to the alternate grip on my heaviest lifts but I REALLY would not like to tear my bicep if that is what I am asking for...
thanks for any info, I have a ton to learn about this...
