....he shrugged a total of 16 plates last night in a squat rack and couldn't have weighed more than 175lbs. He only got a couple reps, but they were solid. I was impressed. He worked up steadlily from a single plate a side to eight a side and used what looked like perfect form. Kid couldn't of been but 22 yrs old and didn't look like much otherwise.

fuck thats a ton, at 260+ and gassed i couldnt do over 585 without getting sloppy or hurt

I never go over 500lbs, but my traps aren't super strong either.

i don't even go over 180lbs on barbell shrugs but my traps stick through my clothes, i seriously think anyone doing 405lbs shrugs is doing somthing wrong or trying to compensate for bad genetics by lifting ridiculously heavy like people do with calves, you either have good traps or you don't.

LOL Haven't you said all the time how big progress you made since your last pics and that you'll win Mr. Getbig and stuff like that.....^^

I have only just started going very heavy on traps - I have good wide shoulders which tends to make my traps look small (which they are) so to compensate I have been doing sets of barbell shrugs in the power rack with 500lbs for sets of 10 reps a time. Before that I never went over 315 for trap work so I've come to the conclusion I am training too light.
