Title: Secret to Great Mashed Potatoes
Post by: Butterbean on December 23, 2008, 05:38:25 PM
I'm quite serious when I say these are delicious.  Even if you add nothing to them but the called-for water, they are flavorful and delicious.

No lumps, and they come in great flavors which you can add stuff to, or leave plain.  Either way they are great.

You're welcome 8)

i like fresh mashed potatoes, cut up and skin some potatoes, boil them for around a half hour, when they're soft drain them with a strainer, put them back in the pot and use an electric mixer to whip them, awesome stuff.

They come in different "flavors" Migs, and the package isn't all that big.  Look for them by the boxed mashed potatos.

That's why you've never seen them.  But, they're the "real" thing I guess.

I don't like the texture of the prefab stuff although the taste usually is fine.

Absolutely Delicious!

When I used to make them, lol, I mashed mine with a little milk and butter, then after mashing I would add a raw egg and whip them.  It makes the potatoes super smooth and dense.

I don't know, sometimes my mom puts Ranch on baked potatoes, so I thought maybe it would taste good in mashed potatoes.  I've never seen anyone else do it.
