I think he would have gotten the 915 pull if he switched his grip. Dudes a beast!

he'd never be able to squat down that hard at the beginning with a mixed grip. i'm surprised he didn't get more actually, since he's done 390x3 in the gym.

Why is that? I train with a guy who does that very thing.

just a guess based on his body position. the underhand arm would be coming in at an odd angle and throw you off slightly. i 100% believe that anyone with the hand size to do hook grip effectively should (not me, sadly :( ). it makes your body perfectly even, no twist or tilt.
-
Great to see a clean lift and with No Drug use. :-\

Yeah, its not ideal as far as balance but it has worked for others.
I wish I could hook grip! :'( But it feels like my thumb will pull right off one day.

Did he miss an injection ???

Truly one of the strongest men on the planet. He currently is competing in strongman. He was a top level Olympic lifter previously. The guy can do it all, and do it all very well!
-
Indeed. I think if you optimalised his techniek (more powerlifting suitable) he could do some serieus damage.

He just tied for the raw WR, and is one of the top 5 deadlifters in the world. I think he's already doing some damage. ;)

sorry to disappoint you but the internet is not american. thats why you have those funny little "www" at the beginning of urls... they stand for "world wide web".
the term "world" does not mean "usa".
and fyi the majority of the world dont use the stupid imperial system of odd lengths and weights...but yet despite this, the rest of the world still know how to convert it for those who cant do it for themselves- i.e. americans.
i hope this helps you.
