Notice in this gif Rampage had his eyes closed the whole time.

Pure luck didn't generate that punching power, though.

Luck? not quire you need the power behind the shot even if it fell right into place
Rampage got his revenge last night

No sir.
Rampage had a punchers chance, and that's how he won.

Again no luck needed when the power is behind the shot , Wand was KTFO he was out cold no luck involved

By my account Silva's eyes were closed for about 2 minutes!!

I was shocked how long he was out , Rampage got revenge but I think his KO by Wand was more brutal

bas rutten said it best when randleman knocked cro cop out - you throw a punch, aiming at a target and you hit it- how is that lucky?

exactly , especially when it has the power to KTFO

x 2.
3 times outta 5, Wand wins that match.
Maybe 4 times outta 5.
Rampage looked like he was losing until he KTFO'd the other guy.
That's all that matters. He won throwing haymaker combos. Against a better guy, it wouldn't work - he'd be outlasted and defeated. But it sure worked last night!

haha, Debussey = awaiting an interview with the Axe murderer after this loss. His lost 4 of his 5 last fights. ;D

Quintons punching was more effective than Wandy's wild swings.Wandy's never been the same after he left chuteboxe . He's dangerous but nowhere near the levels he used to perform in Pride.

sad to say silva's best days are behind him. at his best though he was twice as good as rampage at his best

he still can make ALOT of money in Japan
I know that he could make a small fortune working Pro wrestling there but business is down over there at the moment

Do you have the gif of Silva's eyes being shut for even a longer time. Now that's bad luck
-
Nah.
I expected Rampage to win this fight.
Wand is past his prime.
Barracuda is spot on; since coming to the UFC he's been a shell of his former self.
He doesn't have any speed anymore. He attempts to win by brawling with no strategy.
Rampage still has his reflexes and power.

No luck.
Two nice shields to deflect the looping hooks Wand threw. Nice tight lead hand hook with right chambered at the chin, with the chin down. Doesn't look like luck to me, just nice orthodox boxing. I am always wincing when punches are flying by my face, what do you do?
Wand wins in Pride, not in the UFC.
Athletic commisions to test for AAS. Advantage Q.
Big octagon with no hard corners, hard to cut off fighters with good lateral footwork. Hard to induce the clinch which is where Wand killed Q last two times. Advantage Q.
No kneeing or kicking a downed opponent, gives wrestlers an advantage, impunity to shoot singles, doubles, advantage Q.
This means the fight would be a kickboxing match without the clinch (which Q was sure to avoid), and Rampage has the tighter boxing structure, with power in both hands. Not to mention Rampage has the advantage in wrestling (he took Randleman down in their fight, and prevented the TD). And although Wand is a BB in BJJ, he never uses his BJJ to attack and attempt subs, he uses closed guard and trys to get the standup. Add to this the fact that Wand throws loopey punches with his chin held high, and you have a recipe for a highlight reel KO. No luck whatsoever.

Good analysis there, bulldog.

There is no luck there, just pure calculation.

its strange the sometimes not too much people seems to see this obvious flaw. On top of that, Wand seems to have forget all his Muay Thai background since he left CB, and not only try to box, and have very week kicks (i mean, the few he throw)

Even when he was at CB, he had the fatal flaw of standing upright, winging punches. Look at his fight with Hendo and Mirko. Feet planted, head up, throwing bombs. If he connects, great, if he doesn't....Mirko set him up with the bodykick prior to the LHK. Hendo ducked his head and dropped that right hand on him. Did the same thing in their first fight, but didn't finish him. I always preferred Shogun's striking to Wands. Much more methodical.

thanks for posting that,it saved me the effort.that bas rutten quote was the first thing that came to mind for me when i read the original post about lucky punch stuff.one guy went as far as saying when mir heel hooked brock awhile back that it was luck, how the hell are you gonna get a lucky submission and a heel hook is one of the more technical subs out there on top of that imo.its the same thing in other sports, they say MJ got alot of lucky shots, how the hell is it luck if your aiming at a target and you hit it?even baseball,a batter sees the ball/target coming toward him and he swings/strikes at the ball and tries his best to hit the ball, hows it luck if he was aiming to hit the target?to me luck is going to vegas and playing the slot machines and winning, that really doesnt take very much skill cause you really have no control over the situation.thanks for reading

Just prior to the punch, Rampage shields, peers over his protective arm and sends the lead hand hook right at Wand's chin. NO LUCK there.

Rampage won cause he's a crazy monkey ;)

He did work with Juanito, and it is a boxing technique. I did train with Rodney at a seminar, and he is hella cool. Don't let him hit you with a hammer fist in the back of the head though. I was WOOOZY.
