Mangini-out.

I knew it!!!!  It's going to be hard for Mangini to get another gig in the NFL.  Gamesmenship is a part of the NFL, and coaches are doing everything they can to win.  Thy won't risk having a guy like Mangini on their staff. That and he's not a very good coach.

Wade Phillips should be fired. If he stays on another season, then its embarrassing to their organization. Easily the most dissapointing season in Cowboys franchise history.

They paid Garrett all that money to stay on as a OC, why not elevate him to coach?

supposedly they think he may not be ready now, contrary to what they thought of him a few years ago..

Mangini has a great football mind, he just wasn't ready to be a head coach. He'll probably take a coordinator job somewhere and get another shot in a few years.

i agree more or less, with all the new additions it takes time for the team to become a cohesive unit, regardless of all the offseason talent they attained.

me either, have they said who his replacement will be or are they shopping around?

Pretty much the entire defense coaching staff for the Texans got fired.

Shanahan was a shocker. where will they find a better coach? if anything they sould have taken away his control of player personel.  so many coaches, dont know where they're going to get the replacements from.

No idea but I would think they would go with a defensive minded coach.
I honestly think it would be a good place for Spags.

Browns want to look at magini?  Oh brother!  I think the Jets land Shanahan or Billik.  Woody has some psl's to sell!

I agree on that course of action and probably getting another shot later. Not sure if he's a top-notch coach though.

Utter rubbish for the most part. It's going to be hard for him to find another gig hahah This guy is so slanted towards NE that he hates unnecessarily on anyone who leaves.

Mangini has not proven to be a good coach but ya of couse he'll get something else, at least a coordinator position in fact i think it would be better if he took a coordinator position instead of head coach if given the choice. "Body" once again ridiculously way off thanks to insane NE bias.  ::).

Actually it made sense, the owner of the Broncos would never have done that unless he knew quite correctly that Shanahan's time had passed. Romonowski said same thing, Shanahan was a good coach but it was time for him to leave, in fact he should have resigned instead of being fired considering their Jets-like season end meltdown. This will be good for Shanahan and for the team that gets him.

It'll be interesting to see if Shanahan's availability affects the Jet's' interest in Cohwer or the Boys loyalty to Philips. Spags looks to have the inside track with the Jets assuming they can't get Cowher.

I agree....but then Jones wont be able to call all the shots.

I can't agree with that.  He had his coaching repsonsabilities stripped from him several times while in NE.  Mangini tries to coach like Belichick.  If you read the latest Farve article it talks about how Mangini would call players out in meetings (including Farve) and that farve was not happy with that.  You have to command a certain type of respect from players to do that.  Belichick/Parcels can do it, Mangini was just looked at like a dick.  Kind of like Nick Saban was.

Mangini would do well as a DC.

Talk in NY is that Spags might be the guy.
I think he would be a better fit in Denver.

Spags would be a natural fit in NY; the only prob of course is that he's an unknown quantity as head coach, and they want someone established to get this team over the hump. My hunch is that spags might have more potential to help the team than anyone else, but the downside risk is much higher than someone with a record. Lucky for the jets to have the Shanahan option; IMO he's one par with Cowher and might actually be better for the jets than Cowher despite their desire for Cowher.

Spags to interview with Denver on Saturday.
I think it's the best fit for him.they already have a QB.take the Giants running back Ward as a free agent and then go build a D.
