That belt has been bouncing around ever since Chuck lost it. Rampage made one successful title defense and Forrest failed on his. How many do you actually think Rashad can make? Rampage will run over him IMO and then what?
Rampage is lazy...so I dont see many successful defenses on his part. Forrest shouldnt had made it close period yet outwork Rampage.
Machida seems like the odd man out....with his style of fighting I can see him outpointing Rampage. I think he's the best right now...we'll have to see what Shogun has left too.
Thoughts?

Thiago Silva

I don't see Rampage running over Rashad. I think actually the other way around is more likely. Rashad is quick and has knockout power.. plus he has heart and endurance.
I think this fight is next for Rashad though.
-
LOL you guys give Machida way too much cred.- against a disciplined fighter he will get destroyed. He is good, dont get me wrong, but gimmie a break- rashad would kick his ass IMO
-
rashad had a draw against tito and split decision win over bisping
lets not get carried away here

Thiago Silva
Right on.
Thiago Silva is the total package.
I like Lyoto Machida, he's a great fighter. Probably top 3 in the LHW right now.
But Thiago Silva is even better.
I see the top four it like this:
1. Thiago Silva
2. Lyoto Machida
2. Rampage Jackson
4. Rashad Evans

as long as rampage STAYS FOCUSED and stays with his new team, hell be tough as hell to beat, the 205lb class is pretty stacked now and page is imo the best out there now.evans aint gonna be able to deal with rampages power and sweet combos, head movement and footwork is also on rampages side.evans striking is good but not as sharp as pages.i also dont see rashad muscling page around, hendo is a far better wrestler then evans and he couldnt out wrestle page.i see page taking that belt back and providing he STAYS FOCUSED he will hold it for awhile.i see it something like this
rampage
evans-thiago a tie
machida
chuck-forest a tie
jardine

Rampage dominated a more explosive fighter in Kevin Randleman. Randleman has better wrestling and as much power in his hands. A focused Rampage is scary. Rampage has the edge in striking, they split in wrestling, and Rampage is stronger, and as explosive. He'd better learn to defend a leg kick, though.

the strange thing is rampage is training with tiki ghosen, tiki has a nasty thai game.the thing that puzzles me is why isnt tiki teaching him to block those leg kicks, they are pretty easy to block imo.im sure tiki is showing him how but maybe page just doesnt use that defense for those kicks.imo page better start using the blocks in the very near future cause these days fighters use whatever they can use against thier opponant.the counter to a leg kick is a straight punch right down the pike,if page can make them pay bigtime for those leg kicks maybe the opponant will think twice about eating another rampage straight right to thier jaw.im sure page will fill in any little holes he has in his game training with the wolfslair crew, them guys are awesome imo
-
you sure rampage got the edge in striking over rashad?
-
Thiago Silva
I don't know about this guy, he seems too robotic.
-
who has Thiago Silva fought?

I wouldn't call Tiki's thai game as nasty. I don't know how much training Tiki did with Rampage, unless Tiki went to England as well. The old team Oyama had Tiki, Razor Rob, Fabiano Iha, Mayhem Miller, Rampage, Ricco, Tito.
-
check out rampages post fight speech with joe rogan right after the ko and youll see tiki standing behind page with the team wolfslair shirt on,page even mentions tiki for all the help the last few months in england, tiki is officially with wolfslair now.i was suprised myself seeing tiki behind page and rogan cause i thought he was still with colin oyama and crew

Greg Jackson is probably figuring out how to beat Machida and Rampage as we speak.
-
I really don't see anybody dominating for a long time in this division, though i think it's less "stacked" than everybody is claiming.
Chuck and W. Silva are slipping. I think Forrest had a good run, but he's not a first tier fighter, just not talented enough imo.
Rampage has the tools to dominate, but is too erratic probably to do so for a long time. Machida will give a lot of guys problems but i don't think he's champion material.
I'm interested in what T. Silva will do and how Rashad will evolve.
T. Silva - Machida
Evans - Jackson
