Post by: JOHN MATRIX on January 01, 2009, 05:43:03 PM
things are all done on keyboards now from computers to phones, when i try to put pen to paper now my writing looks like an elementary school kid. and forget about cursive. forgot all but a few letters. well cursive is stupid and worthless anyway, you cant barely read that shit.

What if you write a lot of emails, does that count?

Also suppose you keep your hands strong by volunteering to oil up bodybuilders at local shows.  Doesn't that count for *something*, JOHN MATRIX?

LOL. A great writer would never refer to himself as a great writer.  ;)

You know. I hardly do any real writing with a pen these days. However, every time I sign for a package with one of those electronic stylos, my signature looks different every time. I tell the delivery guy that I hope he can make it out.

Doctors have to sign a lot of crap.

Besides..... penmanship doesn't bear any relationship to content. :)

Absolutely. Only the classy people like quaker, me and a few others are still excellent in the finer art of penmanship.

I agree penmanship has fallen by the waistside. My strict father made me practice cursive writting after school. Writing the same damn sentence for a half hour. I still have wonderful cursive writing and now I plan to do the same thing to my little one

My mother still insists on communicating with me by letter.

To respond I just phone her back.

I would have to say yes, my handwritting is definitely not as neat as it was before computers, lol.

I also find myself typing at work in shorthand sometimes too because of forums and emails.  :-X

Debussey = not suprised of your comparison, since both Albert Fish and Debussey had/has an intense enthusiasm for drinking urine.
