I wish the gyms would have a cozy fire place, then we all could sit there and warm up

i ve never warmed up before lifting weights. I warm up with my first set.
most people who warm up with stupid flexibility exercises are generally gay ass 160 lbs attention whores you want to punch as soon as you make eye contact with em.
-
u all should warm up good so u dont tear a rotator cuff!

warming up is the best part
hit the sauna thats what i do maybe dance around a little in there sing a few songs stretching flexing talking to some old farts about how the good old days was not so good and how superior you are to them
show off muscles let them feel them pose down in your undies get a little sweat going drink a sip of water and youre ready for the gym 2-2,5 hours is enough not more
repeat this 6 times a week for the rest of your life

Hahaha, Bluto that's a great story!

I stretch and warmup with set after set of 20-30 reps of very light weight....I'll warm-up for upwards of 30 minutes sometimes.

My soiled workout clothes are not for sale.

go in the gym sauna before your workout if you are not warm

I take warming up very seriously. I don't get it how some people just walk in the gym and then get straight into their heaviest lifts with no warm up at all.
I'm all about preventing injuries, so in the long run it will hopefully be worth it.

I start with a couple of sets just to make sure my joints feel good and to get the blood pumping. I think it's stupid to just rack up your heaviest weight and burst into work sets. People that do that either get injuries or don't lift as heavy as they think they do. If you're training heavy, you've at least got to pyramid up in weight.
My warm up sets are too low intensity to be considered work sets, but it's far from static stretching and doing yoga for 20 minutes before lifting a weight. You should just do the same exercise you're about to do at a lower weight to make sure everything's in check.
