It's on right now.
One of my favorite movies...
DeNiro, Pachino, Voight, Kilmer, Sizemore and Dennis Heybert as the get-away man.
Awesome movie. All the way awesome movie.

Are there any black people in it? I don't watch movies with blacks in them... unless of course they're working the fields.
-

Good movie.

Wha?? This movie has the quintessential gun fight sequence in any movie ever made. The downtown LA gunfight with the shots ricocheting off the buildings is one of the best sequences to test a sound system too =)
Plus the movie is pretty damn good.
-
Sizemore
Fucking awesome name..... 8)

Yes, the shootout is probably the best I've seen in a movie.

My favorite Mann film next to Thief with James Cann. Mann is to be commended for really getting the tactics down in his action films, and paying attention to the small things.
He also offers excellent commentary tracks on many of the DVDs.
P.S. Waingro makes for an awesome sleazy bad guy.

Tthe movie (apparently the shootout thing) inspired the real life events that happened in L.A during a bank robbery, two guys in full level 5 body armor armed with AK-47's and tons of ammo had a shootout with LAPD for a couple of hours. The LAPD was unable to do anything due to their shitty weapons and lack of range against the much more powerful and longer ranged Kalashnikov's, towards the end the LAPD broke into a gun store and took some AK's to match up with firepower and distance.

Found it! this was sick...

Contains the best relation advice ever given in a movie.
'Always be able to walk away from everything in 30 seconds'

Ronin is a really amazing movie in that genre as well.

2 greatest actors of their generation have a scene together for first time. Definitely worth checking out.
-
One of my all time favourite movies
"I aint never goin back"
-
Heat is one of my top ten easily. Another kick ass Michael Mann film. Even in his less than stellar movies like Kingdom and Miami Vice the action scenes are kick ass and realistic.
-
Awesome flick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don`t like this movie, you are a woman.

LOL
A girl I dated liked Heat.
Should I be concerned that she may be a tranny? 8)
-
Great movie. The real life 1997 North Hollywood Shootout validated the realism of the Bank Robbery Scene in 1995's "Heat".
Heat:
-
Great movie, although it has some lengths.
They spend an awful lotta time with this "charecterisation" stuff.... ::)
-
Good movie but a good 30-45 minutes too long. They should've cut out all female characters from the plot as they didnt add anything of value and just slowed the action down.
-

yawn. you've been exposed already. you are a low-mid class white in a Houston community with blacks, mexs and some asians as your next door neighbors, and have issues because some of them have more than you do in this life.
-
wasnt the shootout pretty much the only good part? that and the original robbery
could have been a great shortfilm. 30 minutes. tops.
-
Incredible movie! I saw this was on yesterday too Wiggs.
Ronin was excellent as well.

"Pachino"?

The shootout at the end of The Kingdom is nearly on a par with the Heat shootout for anyone who hasnt seen it.
-
Val Kilmer was the only survivor.

But he had to leave that snitch Ashley Judd behind!! >:(

Great movie , Michael Mann is a great director another great Mann film is Collateral although I didn't like Miami Vice

Heat:
Mann makes pretty realistic movies but multiple guys firing inside of a car isn't accurate lol they'd all be bleeding out their ears and deaf , especially with AR's with such a small barrel but that firefight is pretty accurate man 5.1 Dolby turn that fucker up to max and reek havoc

"you don't know what this is, do you.....the grim reaper is visiting with you."
"I am a Cowboy....looking for anything heavy"
GREAT MOVIE.
Tone Loc's cameo is hilarious too.
BTW "The Kingdom" was directed by Peter Berg, a character actor in the 90's who turned himself into a pretty damn good film maker
-
It's not a patch on "A Place In The Sun".
::)
-
Val Kilmer was the only survivor.
Jon Voight also made it, and he was really running the show behind Deniro and all the other ones.
-
one move def worth seeing! 8)

It's been ten years since the West Hollywood shootout on February 28, 1997.

This was actually a pretty good made for cable film on the North Hollywood Shootout -
.
Also here is an old police film on a similar, but somewhat forgotten bank robbery in Norco, California -
.

I can't believe that 1997 was 10 years ago. Wow. Time flies.
In other news, I sure hope that obnoxious black asshole Senator from Illinois doesn't get elected President. I have a bad feeling about him.
