Title: looks like Franken won
Post by: BM OUT on January 08, 2009, 08:58:46 AM
You know what the bottom line is.Coleman didnt have the stomach for the fight.Politics is a dirty game and Franken played dirty and Coleman sat by and watched Franken march right into the senate.Rowdy Roddy Piper said it best"win if you can, loose if you must, but ALWAYS cheat".Franken lived by that and Coleman goes home a looser because he couldnt match Frankens game.

yeah, i think we all agree that coleman is a loser.

losing as the incumbent, to a comedian... unreal.  PLUS the 3rd party candidate took a lot of anti-repub votes from franken.  In a two-man race, franken would have won by 15 points.  The 3rd party guy was more lib than franken even.

The bigger losers are the ones who voted for Fraken.

Another perspective would be that Franken played better.

His legal team outmaneuvered Coleman at every stage of the post election process

Yes,but sorry, when it comes to lawers and politics I never ever think its above board.Remember OJ Simpsons legal team out manuvered the LA prosecuters but I dont think most would say it was the right outcome.

I still just can't believe Franken will be in the senate, what a disgrace.  We need real leadership right now.
Pathetic.

Who rushed anything in 2000?  That thing dragged out for a long time and they recounted the votes two times if i remember correctly.

Franken outworked him in this race. Spent a lot of months going town by town, knocking on doors, attending town halls, etc.

And he's not doing this for the $, so he's a lot less likely to be influenced by career politicians looking for their next gig.

no matter what your party, residents of his state will get his best efforts.  The real Q is, how aggressive will Obama get with 60+ seats now?

I'm not sure this will mean much, they've still got division in the party, which I would like to see a lot more of in both parties...
