so kids that play grand theft auto should just buy guns and start killing people?
this is the lamest argument when it comes to VIDEO GAMES. they are just video games ffs.

if i want to play guitar, i'll play guitar. i own two of them. this is what we in the business call a "video game". i know, i know, the difference is subtle, but it's there. besides, with RB2 you can play multiplayer online. i have yet to figure out how to pull out my real guitar and play along with other people in, say, two other states and one other country.
also, les paul: about $900. video game with a little plastic guitar, a little fake drum set, and a microphone: $150. math for the win. :D

hey, there's something addicting to scoring points and such. besides, it's cool to compete with people online, y'know? oh, and i'll admit that the sequence of little colored bars is pretty damn mesmerizing. :-X
the cool thing about games like rock band is that it's actually GOOD for the music industry, on both ends. record labels are seeing higher sales as people buy music that they normally wouldn't know, and harmonix is looking to actually sell mp3s through its little download store. plus, sales of instruments are up as kids who normally just play games start to see how much fun it is to play music.
i'm looking into buying an electronic drum set myself, that way i can hook it into the game when i want to play that and then actually play the thing when i'd just like to play on my own.
