Bigorexia the opposite of anorexia found mostly in females has been turning up in frequent cases among men and has reseachers studying this new trend in mental disorders. A guy who is already big or much larger than the average person yet sees himself as not that big or just slightly more muscular then average. This distorted body perception creates an individual who is never happy with the way they look and will go to amazing lengths (ie. drugs, eat crazy amounts) to get "big and muscular" when in reality they all ready are. The disorder defines that it needs to disrupt your life in more than one area (ie. home and work) and cause distress in your personal life. I imagine many pro's would have this disorder and many of us on here are on the verge of it but how many on here think you may be close or full blown bigorexic....Interesting stuff and a very new disorder being looked at to possibly be included in future DSM catalogues (bible of disorders).

Hard to find out what age is affected the most but I would guess it is when your younger and eventually you grow out of the "im not big phase" but unfortunately it continues into adulthood for many....

btw it's just another word to say "bodybuilders have a small dick so they try to compensate".

I believe the more secure with who you are as a person you are, the less likely you'll have such worries. That comes with age and accomplishment

All the best bodybuilders suffer from reverse anorexia - that's why they keep getting bigger and better. They're never satisfied.
Having said that though - there's probably some guys who have it who have it so bad that they're too inscure to step up onstage and will never compete in their lives.

Sisters are all around 5'2-5'5 and wearing heels
Mum is about 5'6 and dad is 5'8 i think
Bigger than average yes. huge NO WAY. Huge is 265lbs at sub 6'4 lean etc. Huge is very rare. Big isnt

anyway, how do you know if you have "bigorrexia" ? if you say you have it, then that means you think you aree big (but yet you say that you dont think you are big). know wha i mean ?
the guys who asay " i have bigorexia" are mostly tiny guys who want to convince themselves they are really big, and that their eyes are lying to thyem in the mirror.

I do the same thing sometimes, i dont have "BIGOREXIA", but have BDD, Body dismorphic disorder. So im pretty much the opposite, i think im too skinny. I feel like im stuck in a 10yr old boys body. If im taking a shower or just using the bathroom, if i dont wanna look at myself in the mirrors ill sit there in the dark while taking a shower or taking a piss. Not fun.

I think it is real. There are times where I don't feel im at my biggest, whether it be taking a week or two off from the gym or missing a few meals. I think most guys who are dedicated to the gym and eating every 3 hours feel this way when something is out of whack. It is funny but also sad, If say one night after i drank a lot and ate nothing i will usually wear a sweatshirt or something bulky out the following day because i feel my body has lost size.
