as many of you know, Sean "the muscle shark" sherk got destroyed by bj "the chocolate chip" penn
now i totally understand how bj penn is a prodogy and  genius and all , but the thing is that
sean sherk was 33-3-1 , and former UFC lightweight champ (meaning he's not the type of  only-muscles-guy we always put in the  bodybuilder vs skinny mma fighter scenario)

you guys thinking what i'm thinking?

i'm thinking Penn even though he's skinny fat could beat the shit out of everyone who's ever stepped into the "Koloseum".

GSP will destroy Penn.  Sean Sherk is one dimensional.  GSP will very well rounded.

Penn is in much better shape now. Penn won sherk cos he is the better fighter. they were both the same weight then, so the more ripped and muscular body of sherk didn't play a part

Sherks got some insane cardio for a muscular guy.

Sherks got some insane cardio for a muscular guy.

He fights at 155lbs, bra. Yes, he's heavily muscled for that weight but it's still only 155lbs.

Penn is a bad man for sure...But the dark circles under his eyes tell me that his body is running really toxic...1/2 teaspoon/baking soda with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in half a glass of water twice a day would help that problem out...

BJ Penn is a born fighter period.

The guy went the distance with arguably the best 205'er in Machida and made GSP's face look like hamburger in their first fight. Penn even challenged Wanderlei Silva a few years ago and wants Anderson Silva if he beats GSP in the rematch.

Does that really do anything?

In the forelast fight (when he lost the belt) he was suspended for using stanozolol.

All I have to say is you'll see, GSP is going to kill Penn.  BTW - Just because Penn challenged Wanderlei Silva doesn't mean he would have won.  WS would have also killed Penn, to much weight to overcome.

Penn will kill GSP AGAIN.  This time he is bigger and stronger and I pity GSP.  If all goes like I heard GSP will not be able to tap out.

Just goes to show that muscles built in gyms have nothing to do with being an ass-kicking Alpha-male.

I have to disagree... gsp will take it again.

penn is an incredibly talented fighter for sure... one of the very best.. but gsp is better.

in the first fight gsp did out strike penn... he landed more shots.. but bj penn has one of those faces that never bruises it seams... he has to have incredibly thick skin... does he ever get cut?

if you watch the way gsp was connecting in the first fight.. if it was anyone besides penn they would have had a trashed face.

not to mention gsp was poked in the eye pretty bad early in that fight... once he recovered do dominated.

it was a strange fight and penn did fuck up his face big time... those two guys are my very favorite fighters to watch.. when is the rematch?

bottom line is that gsp will simply over power him again.. he's too strong and just as skilled as bj.

You are right.  GSP was severely poked in the eye.  The ref should have stopped it and given him time to recoup.  But he didn't.  GSP recovered and dominated the fight.

There, I fixed it for you.

Only thing GSP has on BJ is superior wrestling.  BJ will kill GSP.

If BJ is so superior to GSP, why was he not able to finish him after gouging his eyeball?  For two solid rounds, BJ wasn't able to do anything.  True, GSP could not finish him (BJ is awesome), but he did control him the entire time.  No one is going to "kill" anyone on this fight.  It's going to be a chess match with both fighters trying not to lose.  I doubt it will be exciting...

Training an hour a day for a fight will do that to you.  At BJ was attempting subs.  GSP sat in his guard, elbow to his knees and waited for the stand up only to shoot another double and repeat.

nothing?

then why do all the MMA's workout?  Of course being strong has a lot to do with it... harder punches, better submissions, ...

It was once said you can teach a man speed and technique, but you can't teach a man to be heavy handed. It's like a glass/iron jaw, you can't train it. Some have it, some don't.

if i recall i dont remember saying anything about strength,i said build.but ill still answer your quote, strength has nothing to do with submissions, its all leverage.knock out punches are more technique then power, ask cutler to punch a heavy bag and see if he hits its harder then bas rutten who only weighs 180,jays way stronger but cant hit nearly as hard as bas.mma workouts are designed to make the fighter more efficiant in fighting.

i still will never buy the fact that having strength plays no part in mma.  That's bogus.

typical highschool football philosophy = sherk...put on manufactured mass, muscle cardio workout yourself to death (so you won't tighten up and flame out fast) and try to win with attrition and impose yourself on smaller weaker guys. happens all the time in college football and high school.

get in with a technical guy fundamentally sound with skills (not matter how he looks) and you'll get destroyed every time in there until you    get with the program and master an art other than weightlifting.
