Ado was tracking 3 carjacking suspects when he was hit and killed by an unsuspecting driver.
5-year-old Ado was a 3-year veteran of the Sacramento Country Sheriff's Department.
Officers covered him with a yellow tarp and continued their search.
Because the officer was killed, the suspects could face felony animal cruelty charges which could mean 10 years in prison.

Um...those criminals are not worth one ounce of a K9's carcass, so I would disagree with your solution of sacrificing more dogs. A better way would have been for the police to have just wasted them right after they were caught. Would have saved cash-strapped California's public funds.

cops shouldent even use dogs , buddy of my is vpd and he let a german shepard loose on some guy who punched a female officer in the face and then hid in some guys basement , the dog tore the guys calf right off the bone and it rolled up the bone like a window curtain , he'll never walk again. worse than being shot !

I have always had dogs in my house. It's funny though if a dog gets punched in the nose it's front page news with everyone calling for tough penalties. If a cop gets punched in the nose the defendant gets a slap on the wrist. The killer of that K9 should get the max allowed by law.

The dog (referred to by the police and media as 'officer') was killed during the commission of a felony. As a result, the perpetrators are liable for anything that stems from their crime.

That's justice to me. Since he can't walk he won't be able to punch anyone else in the face again.
