The Academy should be embarrassed for voting it Best Pic. 'Course they also voted The Greatest Show on Earth for the same award.  ;)

i thought the bit at the end where he seen her was awesome as he was dying.

fight scens obviously good...filmed in ireland and used irish army as soldier...monaghan it was filmed or navan or summat.

rest was a bit long winded..

It's definitely up there Fatpanda.  And for sure top 5 in terms of Period Epics.  Mel Gibson out did himself.  If you rent moved by Braveheart check your pulse you might be dead

Sorry, bro. I got the Scotch running through me too, but I have a pretty good critical eye for movies and have seen 00,000's. One viewing was enough for me. Of the top of my head, if you want a good Scottish movie try Whiskey Galore or for laughs try Forsyth's Comfort and Joy or Gregory's Girl.

Actually I just watched it the first time a couple of weeks ago. Only part I remembered was when that guy said something about going down to the boiler room and taking a shat.

I will get ripped on for this.

I seen titanic when i was 11-12. I liked it. Sad espec when old man and woman lying in bed water rising in their cabin. Also the woman reading the story of Tir-Na-Og to her kids as they lie in bed waiting to die.

Fight club IMO is seriously overrated

Only good part of titanic is when you see Kate Winslets tits and when the guy falls and hit the propellar, hope this helps

he had a terrible accent, although 100x better than christopher lamberts in highlander  ;D

i thought he played the part well, all be it nothing like the real willliam wallace character.

to be fair the scottish accent is very hard to immitate. i think the only actor to really get it is Mike Myers.

Speaking of Auld Reekie...I got to meet Ian Rankin last year. Seriously a cool guy and he wanted to discuss The Stones, but I felt bad and cut it short because so many other people were approaching. Will definitely look for him in future. I was impressed. Seemed like a guy to sit and have some pints with.

I've got his website in my favourites and I've been thinking for a while to attending the Edinburgh Int. Book Festival. If this year's lineup has a few key people, I'll probably hit it.

I like Braveheart but think Trainspotting and Shallow Grave are better movies set in Scotland!

It's one of my favorites as well. Quint is a way better character then an Aussie trying to play a Scottsman. Apacolypto blew the big one as well!

regardless of the historical accuracy..as far as being a good movie, Braveheart is undisputably excellent and personally its in my top 5 if not top 3 ever.
