..an article of clothing?
I just received a top I ordered and really don't care for the colors all that much. It's OK, but I would like to dye it black. I would have ordered it in black if I could find it but I had to get this one off of ebay because the store/site is sold-out.
Seems like in the old days people would dye clothes in the washing machine. I don't know if this is necessary or wise?
Any tips/suggestions?
Migs ???

I did some tie-dyeing as a kid ;D That was fun. I would use a stationary tub or bucket, not your machine and be sure to wear gloves.

Did you just buy the dye at the grocery? Any brand suggestions?

Yes. Worked alright.
Would only do it if you wouldn't wear it otherwise. No risk that way.

ahem! yeah do it in a bowl. the gorcery store has it or target. after you dye it use cold water. Probably best to hand wash it at first, redye it as needed to get the depth of black you want.

Rit is the brand that comes to mind. For black I think you may need to do that on the stove to achieve intensity and depth.

You said you don't care for the "colors". So is it more than one color? I wonder if that would dye evenly then?

Yeah, there is white, silver, turquoise and black. Maybe I would need to dye it a few times?
