Haven't tried it, Benz. I don't even go for RSS anymore cause you can only get 5 or 10 updates at a time and the couple of forums I visit have way more activity. I prefer to simply browse to the sites and check up on them every now and then. That's just me, though. What sites do you get feeds off from?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it's the little orange square you see in your address bar with the white curves. Pretty much all sites have them now. What it does is send a feed of the latest content (in a condensed form) to your desktop or browser that you can view using an RSS reader software like Google reader - there's tons of them out there, all free.
So if you subscribed to Getbig's RSS for example, you'd get the latest 5 - 10 threads popping up in your reader every time it updates - you can have it update as frequently as you wish (5 minutes, 1 hour etc). You can also get RSS feeds from just a particular board. Similarly, you can get news items, updated content and so on from various other websites.

Using it for forums might flood you too much, like, imagine adding getbig's rss feed, which list about 1000 posts/day
killer!
