i only do rack deads.........deads from the floor wreck my back :(
-
I've hit 600 for 4, but got out of doing deadlifts recently to see if it would solve the problem of my lower back fatiguing on me on squat work. I've been able to maintain my overall back thickness and width by doing barbell rows, t-bar rows, etc (basic movements excluding deadlifts) but would probably benefit from doing them again.

A 12lb weighted bar! BOOM!
-
I don't deadlift it always strands my back. Could be my form tho.
-
575 in the most I've ever done. Nowadays though ... who knows ?
-
225 for 113 reps
under 5 minutes.

lol, you said rack.. and boobs

I hate deadlifts with a passion. I messed my lower back up pretty bad in my younger days and it's contributed significantly to not being able to deadlift with much effectiveness.
If I do deadlifts at all, I do them from the rack and these days never go higher than 405lbs. Usually I just stop at 315 if I can feel my back playing up.

500* 2 last week

Exactly, judging your "back" you should only be lifting 135 for 6.

-
455 for a single.

b/w 145lbs

I pulled 655 @ 255 bodyweight.
Can't bench for shit, though!
-
315 for 6 reps. I dont want to go heavy.
-

Agreed! rack pulls works just as well for me. I do lighter weight higher reps, maybe go heavy 1-2 a month.
-
best ever pull
585
-
585 before i messed my back up.
-
i once deadlifted 220kg...no joke
right now i don't do any heavy deadlifts but i think i could easily deadlift 160 kg
-
400 at a meet, but I'd only been deadlifting for 5 months at that point so I felt ok about it.
-
best ive gotten up to is 465 for 5 at a weight of about 205 before i hurt my shoulder now for some reason i cant get over 445 for 3 or so.
-
dont even bother. no professional contract at stake.
-
550 from the floor...tried 575 the next week and tore my lat high up where it meets the under arm. I've done 600 from the rack and really don't think I will ever go beyond the mid 400's from the floor again. Thats why I found Getbig..to figure a way to lift around the injury.

Hard to say how much it adds.
I did 464 for 8 reps without a belt then. But didn't go very heavy at all during training then. I know I didn't tried any lifts without the suit that were more than 440-460 then, even though I could pull quite a bit more.
I generally tried to keep most of my lifts fairly explosive then, except 2-3 sets every 3rd week.

damn bro youre a strong dude for sure, i hover around 200 and want to pull 600 for a max but havent seen really many ppl my weight getting that high good to know its possible...makes me wanna go do some rack pulls or dead lifts now. Also cool to know what some of the political board posters lift sometimes i dont think many ppl on that board actually lift weights.
-

yep, and i do them with a double overhand grip. Dont worry about the weight, just using proper form and really thickening up that lower back.

well to me, what your saying, is that yout hink keeping the forarems and grip strength incorporated more into the movement, is more important than getting more weight on the back.
personally i think forearms and grip already get enough work, and on deads ill do over/under. same movement and amount of stress on the back, except more weight.

no not what im saying at all lol.
i can "feel" the movement much much more in my back when i use the overhand grip, just cant use as much weight, also both sides of the back get worked equally that way, instead of having one side get more work than the other with the ov/un grip.
and with all back movements, i want my back to be doing the work, NOTHING ELSE!

500lbs on a good day.
