no glycerol is sugar alcohol, used as the main structure in fatty acids...

do you understand what a di-glyceride is? without looking at wiki

any kind of glyceride(note the "ide" ending) is a glycerol molecyle that has any kind of alifatic carbon chain bonded to any of it's alcohol groups, it has 3 of those thus the posibility for mono, di and tri- glycerides

edit: most "fats" as we know them have a glycerol skeleton, the whole trans/cis and saturated/mono/polyunsaturated fats craze are about those types of fats

we have 2 other kind of major fats in our bodies, phospholipids that are very important in cellmembranes, and cholesterol, which is the base skeleton for a whole host of hormones, as you probably allready know :)

okay so this product says its somehow 'changing' these fats into di glytcerides, and claiming that because they are di glycerides that they are much harder to be stored as fat.

whats the deal with this

they use a enzyme that converts the triglycerides into diglycerides, much like how you guys in the states make processed sugars...

I havn't learned alot about fat metabolism yet, just started my biochemistry course this semester...

But afaik it's bullshit...
