Title: Why are certain gains kept while others are lost?
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on January 30, 2009, 11:58:13 AM
I keep on hearing how with orals such as dbol you'd lose your gains right away but with test you wouldn't.

Why is this?  Why is it that with test or dbol if your bench went up 50 pounds that when you quit test you'll still be strong but when you quit dbol you'd lose that strength?

Just curious.

Isn't the PCT the important part in ensuring the gains aren't lost?

Yeah well it's obviously easier to keep a large percentage of 1lb gained than a large percentage of 20lbs gained  :D

How you proceed depends on your goals I guess. :P

Water

How does water help you bench 50 pounds more.  I read and hear it a lot about questions on orals and people always say goodbye to your strength gains.  I can understand physical weight loss to water but not strength

PCT limits the amount of gains lost due to homeostasis.

D-bol aromatizes so easily that alot of the water weight gained and stored in the muscle bellies is lost after cessation of the drug.

Similar to creatine......

Some people swear by D-bol, but all it does is bloat me and make me feel lethargic.

I think it is an individual thing. If you have good enough genes to grow rapidly without sauce I think you will keep more of your gains when coming off. I had been 'off' for 15 years and could still hold 215 lbs. at 8-10% - I'm 5'8". With heavy eating I got back up to 225 without any 'help'. Note that back in those days there was no PCT, just a taper and maybe some HCG.
The biggest I was when on was 242 (watery).

It also depends whether you are beyond your genetic max in terms of muscle.  If so, no amount of PCT will help you keep your gains in the long run.  It will just ensure that you do not lose them in the short run.   But, you will still lose the gains over the course of the next year off.

Certainly it's individual.

I don't respond to D-bol.

Others love the shit and grow from it.
