We have to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off. Then we chant, "Yes we can.", three times and click our heels. Tada, everythings better.
ooops, almost forgot. We also have to dump trillions of dollars into a broken system and cross our fingers. Don't worry, the tax paying suckers public will get stuck with the bill, hahahahaha....haha.....h a.......wait a minute. >:(

In all honesty to put it simply we need to change course and reverse direction. American needs a serious wake up call. We cannot continue to police the world. We cannot continue to have open borders with illegals streaming in. We need to get back to making manufacturing viable in this country. Start producing what we consume. But Americans are going to have to start sacrificing. It starts with quit buying so much shit, start saving, start telling their kids no for once they can't have everything they want, maybe start cleaning your own house and manicuring your own lawns instead of supporting illegal immigration to do it. But for anything to really change we need leaders in the White House with the balls to stand up to the banking cartel running the world.........ala Andrew Jackson and Ron Paul. The Fed Reserve HAS to be destroyed. Until that happens nothing will change and world government and currency will usher in the concentration of more wealth and power throughout the world. I personally feel Obama's Presidency will be a disaster and 2012 will be the sink or swim election for the United States.

The small business owner is the anithesis of globlization and state capitalism/corporatism. Bush's platform when he was running for President was about small business. So this guy thinks that unemployment will rise to 25% huh? Talk about fear mongering!

LOL. Joe your still as clueless as ever. You need to count all the ones not on the list as unemployed......like 600,000 self employed contractors.....and the list goes on.....

It's always nice seein ya around buddy. Try to make it more often.

It will be at least 20% by fall of 2009. This isn't fearmongering. This is basic math. We're at 10 reporting, and nov/dec trends were very lopsided from october.
Without a doubt, 20% easily. It's not fearmongering. I have 4 part-time jobs, I hope i'll be okay. For anyone with a FT job in a company that provides something non-essential, it might be time to get out the library card and get a book on some useful skill or craft.

yeah, the self-employed, people working under the table, illegals, part-timers who don't file for unemployment, and all the ppl who just got their hours cut from 40 to 15 at their job.
I just had a local firm, Chico's clothing, close their 700-member HQ and 4 clothing stores in my town. It seems people don't buy $68 blouses as much anymore. one thousand people lost their jobs suddenly. crazy.

Coach, current unemployment is 18%. (accurate unbiased number)
Fed numbers do not account for marginally attached workers, or those unable to find employment who are tapped out w/ their unemployment benefits.

Damn straight. Thst is why I went into my own business. Corporate America is no different than slavery, just with a better standard of living.
I may not make as much as the executives and such, but I have freedom and call my own shots.

that's a great call dude.
walmart may have put a lot of the mom and pop PRODUCT stores out of business, but they can't tak away the SERVICE market just yet.

I personally value my freedom over a few more dollars I can make working for a large law firm or corporation.
There is a lot of stress of course! But I would rather have the stresses I have, than being subject to a politically correct environment where I am looked at under a microscope at all hours of the day.

Try 7.2%

Try 7.2%
Unemployment is much higher than that. The government lies all the time and its stats are not reliable.
-
Try 7.2%
unfortunately the real unemployment rate is around 16-18%. the government does not include people who are no longer looking for jobs and people who have been unemployed so long they no longer receive unemployment benefits. marginally attached workers (part time workers who need full time jobs) are not included as well.
those are really close to Great depression numbers, imo we're in a forming depression not a recession.
i could be wrong...but i doubt it.

I agree 100% we are heading for a long depression.
1. Government spending way out of control.
2. Local property taxes are killing homeowers and eating all discretionary spending.
3. ARM resets in 2009 coming from loans from 2004-2007
4. Commercial real estate is the next disaster. Look at any strip mall or drive down any commercial ave. Look at the vacancies!
5. Mass layoffs.
6. No customers to buy businesses products or services.
7. CDS are still not worked through the system.
8. Illegal aliens still competing with americans for basic level work and jobs.
There are just too many other things at work here for me to think we can avoid this.
-
Try 7.2%
I feel sorry for you. Your like a little lamb, so gullible.

In addition, October's job losses were revised UP (+80,000), to show a cut of 320,000, previously reported as a 240,000 loss, while September's losses were revised UP (+120,000), to a loss of 403,000 from down 284,000.
That meant 199,000 more jobs were lost in September and October than previously thought
