Talks continue between the Obama administration and financial industry representatives over a plan to further ease the credit crunch, including a so-called 'bad bank' component to buy toxic assets. If progress continues to be made an announcement is likely late next week, according to a source familiar with the discussions.

The scary fact is Washington and Obama's administration are fucking clueless as to how to solve this problem.  There really isn't a solution.  Everything they are doing is just going to cause more problems later on.  They should have let the chips fall where they may.  Now they've just turned a crisis into a major catastrophe.

Unfortunately (as you already know) Americans are too STUPID to understand this and will Demand that the government do something.

In fairness to my fellow Americans I'd say more are ignorant than stupid.  They dont even know what they don't know.  I work with doctors on a daily basis.  Most of them are as clueless as the bum walking down the street when it comes to the U.S. Government and the Federal Reserve.  Ignorance and stupidity know no boundaries in America.  One stupid Asian doctor and a nurse were talking about Obama and socialism.  We don't have socialism in America.  We have state capitalism/corporatism or some argue fascism.  There is a huge difference.  It's like saying potassium and sodium function the same in the body.

I can see fascism turning into socialism soon when the american masses settle into soup lines.   fascism is coming first tho.

Karl Marx was dead wrong when he said Religion was the opiute of the masses.  Sports is the opiut of the masses.

Without the fascination with sports all day every day millions of men would suddenly shift their focus the screwed up govt and how we are getting scrwed.

Go listen to Ice T's song "Shut Up Be Happy" on youtube.

There is a line in there about martial law being imposed but all sporting events going forward.

Sports in this country is truly a religion.

To be fair it isn't just sports. It's celebrity worship. They are doing a great job at keeping the masses distracted from the real issues. Most people choose to be ignorant. Look at TV these days...all mindless crap.

You're both right and it's disgusting.

I actually believe its intentional.  The government loves the fact that tens of millions of men are confused and distracted with sports rather than the raping and pillaging of the taxpayer.
