I know next to nothing about American football but this is a huge event for millions of people.
i bin playin "tecmo bowl" on a snes emulator, and understand the basic rules.
Who should i be rooting for?
is it set to be a classic game?

Good questions Boost. Solid storylines in the game within the game.
First the coach for Arizona was a one time assitant coach for Pittsburgh. In fact, he was the there when they last won the Super Bowl.
Pitts is going for their 6th Super Bowl title and will probably cement them as the greatest NFL franchise. Pitts fans are very knowledgeable on average and VERY dedicated. Team reflect the no-nonsense approach of their city.
Arizona is a HUGE surprise. Even the most diehard Arizona fans would not have predicted before the season that they would be here.
As for players, QB for Arizona Kurt Warner, has had a rollercoaster ride for a career. After graduating college and nobody wanting him, he was bagging groceries when he tried out for an arena league football team, got noticed by the NFL's St. Louis Rams and made it to the NFL that way.
The game itself pits the high flying Arizona offense with 3 WR's with over a 1,000 yards receiving this year, unheard of accomplisment, against the number one defense in the league, Pittsburgh.
As to who to pull for? I think Arizona is a more interesting storyline, but both teams are full of "good guys" in terms of the NFL.
Just drink plenty of beer and enjoy the game!

for alot of us, yes. even if one doesnt like to watch football, its a big event, as even the commercials tend to be ver enterttaining. at times, even more than the game itself. the half time show is always soemthing to see, as they spend a huge amount of money producing one every year. and its a great time to eat, most people who watch the super bowl have tons of good foood out to eat.

i enjoy watching the top 10 plays shown in teh bar i work if i am doing teh door midweek. other than that dont know nor care much for american football

I was at a bar in London last year for the superbowl, and it was packed with Brits that didnt know anything about American football, but were going to stay up late to watch the "Superbowl," they evetually got drunk and proceded to choose a team to root for and it turned into bedlum...quite entertaining actually

You should be routing for the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona is a state here in the US. Pittsburgh on the East coast of the US located in Philadelphia and usually breed fat, gay, Philly cheese eating species. Your choice should be clear ;D

As an eagles fan I was debating not watching the game, but have decided to watch it. I like larry fitzgerald and krt warner a lot. Also
Troy Polamalu on Pitts defense if amazing, he intercepts anything that touches his hands.

You have to watch it to get it. It's kind of like us Americans and soccer. We don't get it, so we don't like it. American football players are among the best athletes in the world.

Now, you know how most Americans feel about watching soccer.You have to watch it to get it. It's kind of like us Americans and soccer. We don't get it, so we don't like it. American football players are among the best athletes in the world.

Ticket sales at the last four European NFL games would suggest otherwise. I'm willing to bet euro youth don't spend much time playing football while in grade school and highschool. To get football, you have to be around it, play it, and follow it. The style of the game is different than soccer. Football is a much tougher and physical sport. It has a lot strategy.
To me soccer is very boring and to back and forth.....while Europeans always tell me that the build up to a goal is what makes the sport great to watch.
