Its amazing to me that we even have to mention the ninja turtle in the same breath as those great champions. I agree that at the last olympia that Dexter was the best of show but what does that really say? The fact that a good bodybuilder beat mediocre to good IFBB pros doesn't lend him to be mentioned among the greats. The bloated bellies, lack of personalities, gifted placings and slew of drugs is making these big shows into freak shows and I don't mean freak in a nice way.
Well I need to quit typing before I sound too much like howie.

Silly getting bent out of shape over dexter's win considering some of the abortions who have thru politics been allowed to win it, for example yates in some shows, columbu, etc.

imo dex. is another franco colombo or chris dickerson but not the next ronnie 4 sure.. he has a gr8 body but not the type of body 2 please most of the fans.. most of the ppl prefer mr. o. to be huge.. this is why the 3 guys who won more thn 5 times wer huge..
-
;)
Thats gotta be the best photo of Dex EVER! lol
-
Dexter's got a quality physique, clearly well beyond Yates in bad shape, the joke of Columbu being the world's best built man, etc.
The only think lacking is dominance but that's a given some years. He's got a great physique that many would find more appealing that previous winners.

he has his gr8 parts 4 sure but his calves r poor and his lats r relatively high.. high lats kill some poses..

Head and shoulders above most on getbig when it comes to schmoes, this clown spends quality time on here while never working out. Has to be gay with the embarassing degree of ball-worship seen daily. :-*

Too ticky-tacky, given that most Olympians are not flawless. His physique reeks of quality, doesn't have the horrible gh guts that many top placers have had, that is clearly a huge flaw right there. You can't use the argument that he has to be flawless when this won.
-
Dexter >>> Arnold ,Yates,Haney and Coleman
-
Guy looks fvcking great.
-
Too picky, given that most Olympians are not flawless.
no one ever is flawless.. imo ronnie has more flaws thn dex. but ronnie is 4 sure a better bb coz his strong points are also much more.. ronnie has one of the best backs ever and his arms/shoulder combo are out of comparison.. on the other hand dex.'s good parts r just good parts.. nothing outstanding!!..
-
;)
that is photoshopped so bad its not even funny
-
dexter looks great standing by himself. the problem is how small he looks next to wolf, vic, jay etc.

I never got this argument that so and so bodybuilder looks great standing by himself, but looks like shit when standing next to other guys. Isn't a bodybuilding contest about comparisons? That is, a bodybuilder only wins if he looks great standing next to other boybuilders.
SUCKMYMUSCLE

of course dex. doesn't look bad beside the others but his body doesn't have the ability to own the competition from the first glance like lee haney or dorian (in 93 & 95)..

outstanding 8)
the thing is dex does have a fantastic mr o caliber physique, jay should never have touched the sandow not dex.
the thing that everyone hates about dex is his height, if he was 5' 11" everyone would be in awe of him, instead he' called a midget ???
if you take and pic of him and ronnie and enlarge dex to the same height, you'll probably be surprised at how close they are.
i don't know where this hatred comes from for dex. some clowns on here even claim heath is better ??? wolf is better ??? victor is better ??? cutler was better ???
not a chance, if you look at their physiques and judge it on bodybuilding criteria dex wins everytime against them all.
no gut, flowing lines, symetry, conditioning, mass, proportion, he has it all. yet because he's shorter guys think he's a clown ???
you are clowns >:( show respect to the new and rightful king 8)
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

It's a shame Dex is a midget.....

i agree tht dex. may b better than all the names u mentioned specially jay but not better than any of the top guys of the 90s..

i think he is better than the top guys from the 90's, including flex, levrone, ray, and nasser. The only challenger would be ronnie at his best.
now i'm talking about dex now, not 5+ years ago.
flex, yates, ray, and levrone in the early-mid 90's were outstanding, but i feel todays dex beats them.
just one white mans opinion though. ;D

hw come my friend!!.. 4get about ray, kevin, &, the wizard of truth :D but hw come 2 say dex. beats flex wheeler!!..
- bth of them have shitty calves..
- flex quads, back, arms are better with their beautiful lines and shape..
- dex's shoulders may come close but i belive flex's r better and bigger..
- in addition to this dex. gas high lats while fles doesnt..

i just feel dex has more mass, and is just as conditioned if not more so.
i strongly disagree about back, dex's back blows flex's away both in width and thickness. dex's arms are bigger imo. chest is fuller and broader ( flex has narrow clavicles wich effects this).
the high lats thing - i like he look of high lats, however i don't think he has them - see below. ( dennis james and wolf do, but not dex)
legs i'm not too sure about i'd have to see pics.

here is one legs comp. bet. the 2 guys 4 u :)
dex. torso (z abs area) is relatively long 4 his frame so from the front his lats look high.. check his f. lat spread pose 2 knw wht i mean..

ok hers is a pic of flex at his peak circa 92-93, then dex now.
see what i mean dex > flex
-
dexter looks excellent in that shot - but in the same way somebody like ronny rockel looks excellent - so why arent guys like that placing higher if this is the standard by what the O is judged? Just doesnt make sense
-

First of all, Jackson doesn't have to "own" anyone. He simply has to beat them, which he did last September.
Second, few (if any) Olympia champions "owned" the competition in their first win. Arnold won by one point; Ronnie won by just 3 points.

it's a matter of taste :D I myself c that flex lines and separations look better.. dex is only bigger (not in general but in these 2 pics in particular).. flex's calves also r better.. here in this pic. they were still not filled with oil!!
by the way in these pics flex ws about 27 and dex?? over 37 i guess..

sure... i ws just guessing.. let's wait and c wht he will do this year and after.. but when arnold won 4 the 1st time he ws 22 i think??.. he ws still "a kid" and had a long way 2 improve.. dex. is neraly 40 or so and i believe his chance 2 improve is harder mw thn ever b4..

Yes, Jackson deat beat everyone, but that's not the point. The point is that it's sad that bodybuilding has gotten to the point where that physique CAN beat everyone in the O lineup :-\
And as far as "owning" the competition...screw the damn points, BOTH Dorian and Ronnie took the O to a new level with their first win.
Sorry, but both Jay and Dexter will go down in history as "fillers" in between greatness...
-

hey the 1st pic of flx is from mr. o. 2000 where he ws clearly off.. anyway dex may take the rear lat spread but no chance at all with the rear d. biceps!!.. flex owns him 4 sure..
-

yeah that's a horrible comparison!
The first pic of Flex I think he took like 4th that year, looked like crap...
and that second pic of him HE WASN'T EVEN A PRO YET...but I still take his back double bi over Dexter's ;D

There's nothing sad about it. Dexter Jackson had the best combination of size, proportion, shape, and definition. Jay Cutler tends to be blocky and needs to be on the money, in order to win. He wasn't that night; so he lost.
And as far as "owning" the competition...screw the damn points, BOTH Dorian and Ronnie took the O to a new level with their first win.
Hardly!!! Ronnie won by the skin of his teeth and was beaten by Kevin Levrone, earlier that year. And Dorian looked virtually the same in '92 as he did in '91, when he placed second to Lee Haney.
Either way, there was no "owning" of the competition for their initial wins.
Sorry, but both Jay and Dexter will go down in history as "fillers" in between greatness...
Jay Cutler is the man who put an end to Ronnie Coleman's "greatness". As for history, there's still plenty of that to be written. Cutler may become the first man to regain the Olympia title, after losing it onstage. Who knows how many more Olympias Jackson will win. If Zane can win three, Jackson certainly can, too.

Okay, I guess it comes down to a matter of opinion then.
But I HOPE we can both agree that Dorian and Ronnie both brought something new to the Olympia stage, something never seen before, right? Wether it was their first win or not?
So my point is, both Jay and Dex fail in that area, they have not, and will not bring anything new to the O stage.

That remains to be seen, simply because they are the two most recent winners. Bodybuilding champions are like music: Every generation think that the stuff from their era was the best EVER and that the current crop is relative garbage.
All of the criticism that you're hurling at Cutler and Jackson was, at one time, said about Yates and Coleman.
Read a magazine from the 80s and you'll find some old-timer, blasting those physiques while praising those of the previous decades. Same goes for the 90s. The same guys you're applauding now were getting shredded to bits by some editorials, preferring the 80s physiques.
And, the cycle continues.

Okay. Personally, I think we've seen the best of Cutler and Dex.
But, I guess we'll see. ;)

Father Time put an end to Coleman's greatness. Jay just happened to be around at the time.

There will be off years in the Olympia, it's happened before. Dexter's better than some of the winners in previous eras; he was deserving.
Wheeler i'd say was more compelling, but between the competition then and politics he couldn't win.
But I HOPE we can both agree that Dorian and Ronnie both brought something new to the Olympia stage, something never seen before, right? Wether it was their first win or not?

What's interesting is that this is news to you; it goes in cycles. Some years and competitors will always be better than others.

How does "Father Time" do all of that in just one year?
