looking at that guy he obviously has trained for a substantial amount of time....
we all used to do silly things when we first atarted training getting your mate to pull the car of your chest when you load it up...ego training... a seasoned triner like that still doing that crap is sad.... very sad.. we had a turkish guy like that in our gym every week he loads te bar up and gets his partner to yank the bar off his chest... when training on his own he never goes over 225 .. 275 max for a good four reps on his own and this guy is huge and takes every kind of drug imaginable... when hes training with his partner
he benches four plates for 10 reps with his friend pulling every rep from rep one..... and he screams ..so the whole gym can see.... pathetice were talking a a guy in his late 30's early 40's

I work out in an university gym so i see all types. Some day i'm going to film this older (i guess early 60s) guy that comes in there. He wears the best athletic clothes one can buy, those boise headsets, and a hat (I guess he's bald). That guy squatting does 5X more range of motion than this guy does. Most of the time you can't even tell he's moving. Just a VERY slight bouncing. I was doing bent over rows and noticed in the mirror he was on the decline bench apparently doing situps, i watched him for a minute because it seriously looked like he was stuck, not moving or anything, but then i realized those slight head nods counts as reps for him. The most range of motion i've ever seen him do (he's in there about 2-3X a week), was on the machine flyes. He brought the handles all the way out in front until they touched, i was amazed, but then noticed him moving the handles about half an inch apart from each other and bringing them back together for reps.
Some day i'm going to tell him "WHOA WHOA WHOA THERE MAN!!!! keep the range of motion short to keep the stimulas on the muscle! keep going as far as you have been and you'll develop joint problems" ;D

Just because someone is old doesn't mean they deserve respect, just like if someone is young doesnt mean they shouldn't be respected. And when he's giving advice on how to train to all the other kids in there (Who actually listen to him), i dont think he's "minding his own business".

It's too bad one of those guys on the leg press didn't rip a rancid egg fart right when he started his "set."
This is the kind of guy in the gym who has to do 20 exercises just to work a muscle threw full ROM.
