you so would not be saying this if you stayed in hot ass beat down sun for a while.

True, although I'd rather it was too cold than hot - you can turn on the heater, wear some warm clothes, cuddle up with your girl etc in the cold but when it's hot, you're just sweating and stinking, developing rashes and all sorts of nasty shit.

Haha Auckland isn't that much different mate - it rains throughout the year, although it is quite warm in Summer. And No, I don't like clear, sunny skies or spending time outside. I like my days dark, cold and overcast. I try and sleep during the day so I can stay up at night - never liked the sun that much.

I know, lol! I used to live in Brisbane for nearly 6 years. Love the city and the country to death, but I can't stand the heat. NZ is far more perfect for me weather wise and otherwise.

I just heard that on the news. In the morning they said houses were under threat, but just like 30 mins ago i heard that 14 people had been killed.
Police said possibly up to 40 may be dead. Terrible. :(

Half the state is on fire? What is the other half flooding? I thought there were major floods over there.

The North (Queensland) is flooding, the south (Victoria) is on fire. Crazy weather...

I 'm from Northern Ireland and I can't remember it being over 23 C in the last couple of years >:( The summer of 2006 was great though, some days it was around 30 C.

Bahrain and Dubai in the summer is warmer than just about anywhere else that will be mentioned-extremely high humidity, well over 100/40C consistently, not just for a few days. Feels like a steambath, clothes are soaked in minutes. The ocean water's so warm that it's not even refreshing to swim in. Sound like Melbourne was like that the last few days, but now it's cooling down, unlike Bahrain it's not staying that way all the time.

117 degrees in Victorville,Ca. Had a summer job in a rock, sand and gravel plant. Funny thing is, you can get adjusted to that dry heat before you know it. Any where in the Mojave desert, low to high desert area, can get like a furnace. Like Palm Springs & Death Valley (low area) to Victorville/Barstow(high desert) and points east. If you white boys want to work on your tans, these are the places to do it. Get well done right away.

2000 olympic track and field trials in sacramento, ca. i believe the temp on the track (rubberized cement) was like 122. I was working the meet, it was so hot that when you opened your mouth, the moisture got sucked out. I drank fuckloads of water all day long and didn't piss till like 2am, i was sweating like a pig. I think the real temp was like 107, but working down there on the track was ridiculous.
-
I've been in Vegas when it has been 112 but I think the hottest was San Felipe Mexico and it was 119 and we were competing in a mini-team triathlon
-
the latest death tolll from the victoria bushfires is 66.
where i live, this is the second year in a row where we've had 2 weeks + of 100F temps with about half that 110F+.
Melbourne "beat us" though..we only had a max of 45.7C (114F)
Still, a few country centres went 117F-118F.
insane when you consider that these arent just spots in the desert, they are quite populated..
-
I think about 114 °F in Ohio
