last night I'm doing heavy seated dumbbell presses at the end of my workout, stupidly.
In my last set, on my left delt, I heard a little 'pop' and I dropped the weight.
Today it's very stiff. I still have full functional ability to move, but there is definitely this very odd, stiff pain in it. I can still lift with it. I moved 30 pound DBs over head with no problem. So it's nothing torn (I don't think).
I have health ins, but really don't want to go in right away. If they put me in a sling, I can't play guitar, and that's my job. So I really need this to heal ASAP.
Any thoughts/advice? Ice for the first 24 horus, then heat? What supplements (if any) will help the healing process? A small bit of skelaxin or ibuprofin for the pain/muscle inflammation? I'm praying it's just a small strain, but being precautious. thanks

just leave it alone for a few weeks Rob, no overhead presses, benches or inclines and see if it gets better, also don't do any leg movements where you're holding a bar on your shoulders, stick to presses and extensions, don't put any stress on the shoulder whatsoever.

obv. find out what's happened first off. ibuprofen 2 evey four hours (advil over there right?) i'd suggest and if it continues and it's a tendon/ligament snag the thing that made a huge difference (noticeably, within a week or so for my tendonitis) was cissus. i got the highest strength possible bulk powder, at the time it was something like 12% i think. i've since seen it in 50% capsules...

Yes, but I got my money's worth, player!

Seriously,I would go a couple of days with minimal activity. Take some anti-inflamatory OTC meds. Then see how it feels. If it still hurts, go see a Doctor and get a medical diagnosis not GB diagnosis.

What's heavy? don't lie we all know 70lb dumbbells would crush you.
