This is a must read for most people here on GETBIG...Esp/ if you are a name dropper ;)...This may be why some of you will always be alone...Some more so then others ;)
page 82/83. EGO AND FAME
The well-known phenomenon of "Name Dropping" the casual mention of who you know, is part of the ego's strategy of gaining a superior identity in the eyes of others and therefore in its own eyes through association with someone "IMPORTANT". The bane of being famous in this world is that who you are becomes totally obscurred by a collective mental image. Most people you meet want to enhance their identity----the mental image of who they are----through association with you. They themselves may not know that they are not interested in you at all, but only in strengthening their ultimately fictitious sense of self. They believe that through you they can be more. They are looking to complete themselves through you, or rather through the mental image they have of you as a famous person, a larger-than-life collective conceptual identity.
The absurd overvalutation of fame is just one of the many manifestations of EGOIC MADNESS in our world. Some famous people fall into the same error and identify with the collective fiction, the image people and the media have created of them, and they begin to actually see themselves as superior to ordinary mortals. As a result, they become more and more alienated from themselves and others, more and more unhappy, more and more dependent on their continuing popularity. Surrounded only by people who feed their inflated self-image, they become incapable of genuine relationships.
Albert Einstein, who was admired as almost superhuman and whose fate it was to become one of the most famous people on the planet, never identified with the image the collective mind had created of him. He remained humble, egoless. In fact, he spoke of " a grotesque contradtiction between what people consider to be my achievements and abilities and the reality of who I am and what I am capable of".
This is why it is hard for a famous person to be in a genuine relationship with others. A genuine relationship is one that is not dominated by the ego with its image-making and self-seeking. In a genuine relationship, there is an outward flow of open, alert attention toward the other person in which there is no wanting whatsoever. That alert attention is PRESENCE. It is the prerequisite for any authentic relationship. The ego always either wants something, or if it believes there is nothing to get from the other, it is in a state of utter indifference. It doesn't care about you. And so, the three predominant stats of egonic relationships are: wanting, thwarted wanting(anger, resentment, blaming, complaining), and indifference.

I be more than happy to take on the challenge, if Ron would give me one week one single week i promise there would be practicly zero off topic here - I mean have a look now, since I started my off topic crusade there isn't much off topic anymore, sometimes all it takes is to remind people and keep on with it.

If you vote for Stark then you'll get a Nazi regime on our asses. Have you read what this douche wants to do? He wants to permaban all gimmicks and freeze new registrations for 6 months and keep g&o completely BB related. It would kill this board so fast it would make your head spin.

This is pretty much how it is now. Mostly BB stuff on g&o and whatever boring useless off topic junk that is posted gets moved or deleted (like Stark's hundreds off topic threads). The ones that are interesting, stay.

You know me too well, LOL! Back on the topic though, like mentioned, I think that as long as he is not too regimented, then he could be good for the G & O. I think the G&O is fine now, but it could be better and a bit more consistent, I guess. All that being said, I don't think Ron isn't going to make anyone mod of this board till one of the current mods step down.

Here is what I would do,
Change the Gossip to Bodybuilding Gossip ONLY!!
Move the general Board aka Off Topic board right under the Gossip Board.
Freeze Registration for 2 month to investigate and eradicate the gimmick problem, everybody has a chance to come clean once, if you been found with a gimmick after that period you get 1 month TO and either gimmick or other accounts will be deleted, if you have been found with more than 1 gimmick you recieve 1 month TO multiplide by the number of gimmicks.

Fact is, 99% of all the gimmicks out there are more entertaining and provide more useful insights than you ever will, Stark.

The ego of a bodybuilder is unmatched in a lot of ways...And I myself can relate to this being the famous street dancer that I am...And when bodybuilding "Celebs" or Pros come on here and don't get the respect they think they deserve, this excerpt may give some insight as to way they shouldn't or aren't being treated as superior...
