Title: anyone stay on for a long time and recover?
Post by: gooer on February 15, 2009, 08:13:37 PM
whats up guys. i've been on cycle since last may more or less (i came off for like a month and also for 2 weeks in the middle of it but then decided to get back on), gradually upping my doses eventually arriving at 1.5 grams or so. i know this is obvious but i hate coming off cycle and screwing with my hard earned gains. to be perfectly honest i don't feel like ever coming off but i know this isn't a practical decision.

if i took 4 months off or whatever would my body recover or are my test levels and everything pretty much fucked anyway and i might as well just blast and cruise? anyone run a long cycle and then come off long enough to have their sex drive recover (this is most important to me)? what are your opinions on taking viagra/cialis off cycle for sex drive while in pct/while recovering from a long cycle?

also does anyone know of a good thread that has previously discussed this topic, i searched but i couldn't really find any?

the best way i have to overcome that initial "come down" is i will start a small cycle of gh at the end of a long cycle, for instance if ive been on for 16 weeks ill do my pct and at the same time i will start 2-3 iu's of gh for about 8-12 weeks and as soon as thats over i will be done for 4-6 months or so. What i have found is i dont suffer the strength and size drops that normally come with the "come down" and will im on my gh my body can adapt to the "come down". Just FYI but it always works for me so i hope it helps.

No, you will not be back to normal in 4 months...no way. You may feel OK, but that doesn't mean everything is back to normal on the inside...sorry, sad but true.

It can take a full year or more to fully recover from long cycles...I've talked about this in several threads on here in regards to me being on almost non stop for 3 years.

You would be best served giving your body a break...and no, everything is not hopeless.

You need a good PCT to start with...this will not fix everything but will make a good difference....and when I say you need a good PCT, you need to run one that is longer and more potent than the average PCT.

I'd start the PCT with 1000iu of HCG/ed for 10 straight days. After that begin clomid. Start with 100mg/ed for 2wks. After that drop down to 50mg/ed for 1wk but add in 40mg/ed of nolva. Some will scoff at this saying both are not necessary...I say your PCT will be a far greater success if you do it this way. After your wk of clomid and nolva, drop the clomid and use just nolva. 1 wk at 40mg/ed, next wk 30mg/ed, last wk 20mg/ed...then off everything.

If you're worried about muscle loss you may need to up your calories a bit...if you stay naturally lean this won't be a big deal. However, if you put on fat easily it will be a problem, especially while you're still fresh in the coming off stages. If this is the case you will need to drop the carb intake considerably...yes you will lose some size, but if you keep calories right at or slightly above maintenance you will be fine...learn to utilize fats in your diet more efficiently at this point.

How would it affect your answer if someone had been on HCG the whole time to keep the nuts working?

I'd still do it the same way.

Your body isn't a machine, Chad.

Even if you've been using HCG on-cycle as prescribed, the peripherals wouldn't be "normal" and some of the masking going on would end when homeostasis begins well in to PCT.

"Vet" spoke at length about this in another thread......that regardless of what you do to keep "functioning" during a cycle, you'll eventually have to let everything go over the course of several months to get your body back to normal.

It doesn't happen over the course of a month of PCT.

Fully recover? Never did.

Even after a PCT, no matter how good a PCT you run, it can take the body a full year to make a full recovery...most people don't seem to realize this.

People should understand that true recovery takes about six months to a year.

I would think it would be common sense.

Yeah but that's something that more and more people are severely lacking Div.  Things that are much more common sense than how the body works are sometimes far beyond the grasp of some people it seems.

What I'm seeing lately is alot of people jumping in to cycle before researching them and then asking questions later.

Asking about PCT during the cycle which is very stupid.

If you don't have it planned out ahead of time, aren't you kind of taking a chance?

I suppose we all make mistakes when we're young.

I agree with you here DIV....

Also many people believe the only way to get big is to stay "on" ...you can make gains when "OFF" and it makes your next cycle even better than the last one.
It is a mental block that many people have in the so called "chasing the dream"...

I was once a young apprentice that stayed on for years at a time.

God, back in the early '90s I had no idea what real PCT entailed.  I did a couple cycles per year and never did any PCT.  That's probably why I'm on HRT now...

Today, with the internet more prevalent, there is no excuse not to do thorough research prior to taking the plunge.

It seems alot of people are more apt to "take the plunge" now than ever before.

I just don't think it's warranted alot of the time, especially in the younger crowd.

I didn't even start experimenting until my late twenties.

The advent of the internet and steroid related websites are undoubtedly a major contributing factor to that.

I don't look at BB.com........

That's a generic forum as far as I'm concerned.

It's not a place I would waste time on.

You wouldn't get any information there that couldn't be found somewhere else.

I really do think most newbies could learn alot just from reading Llewellyn's Anabolics book.

You're assuming they are all young, lol.  I think it's just another example of living in an "instant world"
Nobody wants to take the time to do anything right for the most part, they want it now.  Everything comes in a pill or 30 day this, 20 min that.  I'm far from an expert, learning every day but I can't imagine playing with anything to do with my body's hormone levels without at least a few months of good research.
I started asking questions and reading forums for about 18 months before I touched anything.
Again, common sense.

Alot of these people are "kids" are at least act like them.

How else would you explain the behaviour?

Intelligent people don't just jump in to cycle without having a smart PCT lined up beforehand.

Yet more and more I'm getting stupid PM's from people about this.........people who don't even know what they're going to run PCT but they've already started their cycle.

That is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

You NEVER start a cycle without having PCT.

i'm not sure if you guys are talking about me (i didn't see anyone mention starting a cycle without having pct products) but until you really know the situation a person is going through and the reasons behind their actions, it's not fair to judge them. i'm not going to air my personal life on an internet forum but rest assured i had reasons for staying on when i did. i'm not some stupid 190 lb kid who bought some dbol and winstrol tabs at the gym, jumped in head first and never came off cycle. i've ran cycles before this, i consider myself pretty knowledgeable and have all sorts of pct products in my possession (pharm grade nolva, clomid, hcg, and even some aromasin).

i never said what i did was 'smart,' hell taking AAS to begin with isn't the smartest thing in the entire world, but i take full responsibility for my actions. i was aware that it would take a year or so to recover, i was just looking for personal experiences.

Everyone judges whether they admit to it or not.

The difference is, I'm honest about it and other people are full of shit.

I will always judge a person by their actions, regardless of their justifications.

If you don't have your cycle and PCT in order BEFORE you start the cycle, you are a fool.

I don't care what your personal reasons were for doing what you did, but the results speak for themselves.

It was foolish and stupid and a bit childish.

I would say the same thing to your face, except I'd point at you simultaneously.   >:(

Some people need to learn the hard way.

I unfortunately started at a young age 20 and didn't know what the hell I was doing for years and I am still learning almost 30 by the way...

ran cycles no PCT,  ran for two years straight, ran what ever was available...

I was too young and by what I just posted you can see that...

Learn all you can...and hold off for awhile.

And all the publicity of AAS I truly think doesn't help the younger generation...It makes them wonder what if...just my opinion.

Back in the day, I was more interested in reading and learning about the drugs before I actually thought about injecting them in to my body.

I was more concerned with the longterm effects and what each drug was capable of, not so much the instant gratification aspect.

I was familiar with all the UG's back then and tried my share of them, but that was because I didn't have the money I do now.

For me, reading all the Anabolic Handbooks and Guides I had was how I gained the extensive knowledge I have now, the experience I gained from using AAS came later......

From Dan Duchaine to William Llewellyn, there are some real brilliant minds out there.........but there are too many kids who want everything handed to them instead of learning on their own.

That's one reason I don't answer alot of the newbie questions these days.

Too many lazy people who aren't willing to do the work on their own.
