The hulk just appeared on Palumbo's new radio show
Lou States that Coleman is the best bodybuilder ever,
Claiming he spotted him 4 years ago, squatting 615 for 15 perfect reps!
Legend.
-
Bullshit.. Maybe it was 495?
-
I guess nobody got this on film since big lou was involved.
-
I hope Lou dosen't fuckup Ronnies reputation as one of the strongest BB of all times.

F%^k Lou Ferrigno!
-
That doesn't seem unbelievable. I believe it.

I'm sure nobody wanted to cough up the $20!

I do too.

...and charged him $3 a rep.

\\
no way $12.50 minimum
-
Lou's brother filmed this and posted it on the net...However the judge ordered that all copies be destroyed in the settlement...
-
I wonder if after Big Dumb Lou saw this he went over to Big Dumb Ron and charged him 20 bux.
-
in cost of redemption he did an easy 600*7 or 8 warm up if i remember.
-
That doesn't seem unbelievable. I believe it.
I agree - hasn't Ronnie squated 800+ in one of his videos and also one front squats with 495?
615 for 15 isn't completely unbelieveable for someone of Ronnie's strength.
-
Why are we even questioning this? His lifts in "The Unbelievable" support Lou's quote.
-
Its way possibe,well,for Ronnie
-
I wonder if Brian Dobson charged Lou for a casual visit
-
If that's with a suit then it doesn't matter.
(+ quarter reps)
-
Ronnie Coleman eat the protein, go to gym, and lift a heavy ass weight.
-
ronnie didn't squat the bar up, he squated the world down.
-
Ronnie Coleman fucked Lou's ass and called him Susan.

This is totally believable, doesn't he do 6 plates a side front squats for like 4 reps in either "the unbelievable" or "cost of redemption"?

He did 7 plates for 2
then 6 for 10
Said he could get 6 for 12 but they were filming so he'd try 7 a side first
-
i believe that claim easily, he literally bounced up and down with 6 plates on COR like it was 135, easily beleievable claim.
-
You guys are clueless. You should all go back and watch Ronnie Coleman's videos.
He squats 800x2, 600x10 easy and front squats 595x4.
If Ronnie chooses to go higher reps he does 600x15. Now any more stupid questions?
-
he wore lou as his powerlifting suit.

Lou still in top of bb (world wide) for over 35 years.....

Just remember, I don't believe Louie is capable of complex addition and subtraction.

In his own mind....
You better watch out posting pics of Lou... He will come and sue you for 20 bucks....

no doubt ronnie could do 600 for 15 RONNIE reps but not perfect reps
-
no doubt ronnie could do 600 for 15 RONNIE reps but not perfect reps
Maybe you could show him next time.

just saying ronnie is sloppy... next time you read it all maybe
-
no doubt ronnie could do 600 for 15 RONNIE reps but not perfect reps
Lots of guys here who don't lift-if he could do 800 lb. x 2, 615 x 15 is a no-brainer, no even debatable.
just saying ronnie is sloppy...
His squats are fine.

yeah ive never found a formula to extrapolate a number of reps with another set of numbers
-

Ronnie trains for size. Maybe you should follow suit.
-
Ronnie has retard strength..dude is so stupid he don't know that he shouldn't be able to lift that much.

That was with a suit. Suit can add up to 30 %.
-
strong for sure but heshould have trained his calves with heavier weights. to balance those huge thighs.
-
NOT POSSIBLE!
No way Louie could count up to 15 !
-
+ the unbelievable was like 2 or 3 weeks before the olympia.
-
I do too.
Watch any Coleman leg video he doughnut squats 6 plates for 12 to 15 reps easy...
-
The Ferrigno-bashing on getbig has been rather poor lately, gentlemen...
-

615 for 15 isn't completely unbelieveable for someone of Ronnie's strength.
He did front squats with 585
6 plates in unbelievable
-
Bullshit.. Maybe it was 495?
Not necessarily. In his Redemption video he did 800+ for two clean reps and thats after hammering out multiple sets of 15, 12, 10 and 8 reps. What's 615lb for a guy like Ronnie?
-
;D
-
And then its off to the black eyed pea for the 4th time that day for some corn bread, BBQ chicken, corn and french fries.
-
Tom Platz squatted 635 for 12 about one month before one of his final Mr. Olympia appearances.
I have little doubt Ronnie could squat this amount of weight for this amount of reps. Of course, not contest "good", but in his own inimitable style, as can be seen in his videos. Kinda like a non-lockout-fast-partial style.
You can bet Platz's reps were tight, Olympic style, though. Guy was a FREAK. Even Coleman at his best (most drugged) would have gotten smashed in the squat rack by The Golden Eagle. (Ronnie would collapse Tom in pressing stuff.)
-
Good wraps, belt and a lose suit- I can see Coleman hitting 615 for 12 - 15 reps.
-
...and charged him $3 a rep.
LOL

any proof of Platz's squat....or is it just hearsay?

I never heard that story but this one I have
-
That was 525, not 500, and it was during his comeback stint in 1993. Whoever uploaded vid assumed it was just 5 plates, as it's all you can see from that view.
Tom at his heaviest in mid 80s did much more than 525 for 23 reps.
Just like Fred Hatfield who was behind Tom did much more in his prime than at that FIBO event.
Anyone who can't buy credible and consistent reports of Tom's feats without "proof" simply have no idea of how powerful a squatter he was and do not know their iron history. Which is fair enough, as long as they don't play the part of the asanine skeptic
If Tom could do 525 for 23 at 200 lbs BW in 1993, 5-6 YEARS post his olympia days, what do you think he could do at his heaviest and best in mid 80s????? Rhetorical question, as I believe I have the answer. Tom did 20 reps with 600 lbs at his best. That's the heaviest high rep number I recall from his statements.
Bear in mind, Tom never counted reps...his spotters or training partners did. He was much more into feel than numbers. Thus why he doesn't exactly know how many reps he did with 225 and a dime for 10 minutes straight. But more than a 100.
Asking for "proof" of Tom's feats is fair enough if you just want to see it, but certainly not to play the asanine skeptic.

Yes I believe Lee "Liar" Priest has the soiled trunks Platz was wearing during that amazing feat hanging from his bedroom ceiling.

I'd believe this story if Loue said Ronnie did it in 2003.
In Ronnie's last workout video he was struggling with his '03 warmup weight.
He struggles to bench 250 lbs today. Kinda sad :'(

I wanted to see it.....I'm a "show me" type of person. There's far too much blatant bullshit that becomes bodybuilding lore because someone wrote it in a magazine
-
Totally believable claim. 805X2? Hell yes 615X14 is definitely doable if your Ron Coleman.
-
I don't believe it. 300 pound man who is out of breath just sitting still, squatting 600 pounds 15 times in a row, with a max of a 800 pounds done with a squat suit. Yeeeeeah
buddyyyyy right.
