Well that would be ideal.

Political "parties" should be illegal.
That way, people would actually take a look at what candidates were proposing.

Everyone today votes AGAINST who they don't like, not for anything in particular...

How many Obama voters were actually more Anti-Bush than Pro-Obama?

Exactly. That's were all the "lesser of the two evils" talk came from.

Why did we have to settle for the "lesser of the two evils," rather than the best candidate? Because people are going to vote either for the democrat or the republican. They do not believe there's a chance for anyone else to win, which causes people not to vote for anyone else, because they would consider that a "wasted vote."

If we didn't have political parties it would force you to take a very close look at candidates, considering whether or not you believe that what they're proposing is productive, if it's consistent with your principles and beliefs, etc.... As it is now, people simply vote for "their" party.  ::) In fact, I think subconsciously most of them have their minds made up before they even know who will be elected.  :-\
