58% of informed Americans approve of President Obama
President Obama, now a little more than three weeks into his tenure, has already issued several executive orders reversing some of the previous administrations policies as well as moved a $789 billion stimulus bill through both houses of Congress. Considering all of the moves made by the President over the past few weeks, informed Americans highly approve of the job he has done so far.
58% of the PoliticsHome Jury Panel - the specially selected, balanced focus group of informed and engaged American voters - approve of President Obama three weeks in, while only 37% disapprove. Interestingly, the national approval rating provided by other polling organizations such as Rasmussen (60%) and Gallup (63%) is slightly higher than that of engaged and informed Americans.
Panelists split heavily along party lines, but independent panelists broke the gridlock, giving the president a high approval rating. Among left-leaning panelists, an overwhelming 96% approve of the president, with only 1% disapproving. On the flip-side, only 9% right-leaning panelists approve of President Obama, while 81% disapprove. It was the independent panelists that raised the presidents approval rating to well above 50%, with 67% approving and 27% disapproving.
PoliticsHome interviewed 1,052 Americans from its Jury Panel - the specially selected focus group of informed and engaged Americans.
Results are weighted evenly among Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

Worse Than Carter
-
LOL. 58% of 1,052 "informed" Americans approve of President Obama.
Remember what Mark Twain said about lies, damned lies, and statistics.
-
Bush, worse than Carter. Ok we're not rock bottom yet.
I didn't realize you guys would, in the first 30 days, make me feel like I held my punches talking about Bush. lol...
The difference is that ZERO has done in 30 days what took W 8 years!
-
No offense but huh? I know you don't think this makes sense?
You're right, Hugo... I suppose we have to wait for the inevitable "results" of this "stimulus" before we can pass judgment.
THEN 333386 can say I told you so "ZERO has done in 30 days what took W 8 years" (i.e. make a worse mess of the country than it already was).
-
No offense but huh? I know you don't think this makes sense?
Oh really?????
Do the math????
-
I can't stop laughing.
Your stomach is going to be awfully sore with all that laughing over the next eight years.
-
I didn't even get what you said. But if we're talking about doing the math between what Obama has done vs. Bush, how in the world can you not count the massive hole Obama starts out in? What would Obama's first 30 look like without the truckload of maneur dumped on him from the Bush years? I'm not saying I like the stimulus but fuck, it looks extremely bias to just say it's all Obama.
Trillion Dollar spending bill
250 billion housing bill
2nd Tarp on the way

me takes what i can....

I definitely don't agree with trickledown economics or trickle up economics...neither are ideal. The key is to create opportunity and have a strong middle class. Not to create a nanny state supporting large #s of poor entitled lazy people who produce little or nothing. We need saftey nets and ladders, not cruiseships.
Any company taking temporary tax payor bailout money needs to be subject to strict regulations. TARP 1 was a disaster. I think gov oversight is necessary but not the kind that interfere's with an honest market...ie the community reinvestment act, which was the catalyst to this whole financial crisis.
-
Just look at California and you see how far left policies that produce more of a nanny state work...it will destroy this country!
-
58% of deadbeats, self hating white liberals, welfare recipients, crooked politicians, illegal immigrants and multiple felons support Obama. Is informed a code word for brainwashed or mentally challenged?
I have to admit, it feels good to be part of the minority in America for once.
-
Wait am I to understand that 42% of informed Americans don't approve of Obama?
-
I heard that 98% of informed voters didn't vote for him in the first place....

Nobody has ever asked me why I don't like the stimulus. Might want to talk to me about it before laying out the buck toothed jackass label so fast. Righties wouldn't like my view on it either. My version of what I would like to see is a lot less corporate friendly. I don't like this stimulus the way it is now, it's like we got fucked by bubba up the ass and for recovery having a mule brought in to finish the job. I mean we just got done hearing complaints from dems for years about how little designed around a theme of trickle down works worth a shit and that's very valid. It doesn't work worth a shit. I like what Maher said the other day about taxing the fuck out of mega rich people if they fail to create jobs like they say they do. Anyway back to the point. What did we just get done seeing with the first round of money, these assclowns used the money to party, buy banks and give out a huge bonus to all the idiots that aided in this mess and now they're broke again. Now if that money had gone out to the people with the stipulation or madate that bills get paid first, we'd all be sitting a lot better off. The stupid banks would have their money and a large portion of people would be debt free and ready to spend. When you stimulate from the bottom up, I think there will be a much bigger immediate response. If you have to stimulate, I'd rather see our money go straight to us, not the dickheads at the top that have fucked the people over and over and over. Now they talked the talk about what has been wrong with trickle down, but this bill doesn't come near enough for me of walking the walk.
Good post.

I bet the percentage of uninformed Americans who approve of President Obama is even higher!

Wait am I to understand that 42% of informed Americans don't approve of Obama?
