It's alright and I hear that the Spanish movie 'Rec' upon which it is based is actually better. I don't know about it being better than 28 days later, due to the whole 'shot by a handycam' technique of direction. And it certainly wasn't better than 28 weeks later, which is better than 28 days later.

yeah it's a remake, i don't like to read while i watch movies so i thought it was better ;)

the handycam gave it more of a sense of realism imo

Maybe I got a bit ticked off cause it was the 3rd or 4th movie that I've recently seen using the handycam technique (although it was the best one of the lot) - Cloverfield, Diary of the dead and one other movie I can't remember. If you haven't seen it, I recommend The Mist - that was pretty good. 'Dead Silence' and 'The ruins' weren't too bad either.

i watched "dead silence", good flick with a twisted ending like "saw"

never heard of it until you mentioned it but definitely a good horror movie, thanks ;)

I just returned Mother of Tears,  really disappointed in how Argento wrapped up a great series of films.  Lots of tits and gore but very hokey.

Haha The ruins was OK, but that scene with the hot rock + frying pan + the poor German guy nearly made me throw up! I just downloaded a movie called 'Rogue', which is about a killer croc in Australia.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0479528/

Supposed to be good.

Do you like Japanese and foreign horrors? If so, let me know and I'll post some good ones here. Also, if you want to download movies, check out

http://movie-desire-2-watch.blogspot.com/

http://www.300mbmovie.com/

http://300mbrips.blogspot.com/

http://rmvbusters.blogspot.com/

All the movies are around 300 Mb and you can download them off sites like Rapidshare, which is very fast and one way, unlike torrents. You just have to save the 3 or 4 parts in one folder and extract them. They can be played using Real Player or VLC.

Damn, you are missing out big time if you don't watch foreign (esp. Japanese) horror movies. Good thing is, you've got a lot of great stuff in store to watch.

Also, have you seen 'The descent', 'The cave', 'Eden lake', 'The exorcism of Emily Rose', 'Mirrors', 'Exorcist: The Beginning' (Dominion, which is another movie of the same story sucks BTW) and 'Mimic'? Most of those titles are fairly mainstream and you've probably seen them. If not, they are all good - just remember them off the top of my head. I'll post some titles a bit later.

Haha holy shit, you will love them, especially 'The descent', Emily rose, The beginning and Mimic! The Mist is probably the best of them all, though.

As for Japanese horrors, try 'Battle Royale' (which is not horror, but a great movie nonetheless), 'One missed call' (it's a trilogy and the first one is the best), 'Rinne', the Korean movie 'A tale of two sisters' (not very scary, but a good flick) and 'Shutter', which is a Thai movie.

I'll post more titles when I can remember Earl - for now, do watch the ones I've mentioned in my post above - they are all really good.

Oh, and I know Warez and am a member there. I just prefer the rmvb cause the download files are half the size.

The Japanese Horror films seem a little too gimicky to me,  I'm all about Bava, Fulci, and Argento.

the creatures or whatever they were couldn't hold a candle to Mary Shaw and her dummies  :-X

I loved the Mist, just for the Impossibly Tall Creature in the end!

Watch The Descent and 'The exorcism of Emily Rose' - they are both great. The movie Rogue wasn't too shabby at all, BTW.

absolutely no way quarintine was better then 28 days later, not even close. It was better then 28 weeks later or whatever it was but the original was much better then quarantine. I did like how it wasnt some made up disease and the death cult thing but come the fuk on man when they where in the room with those two ppl who had been bitten and they just sat there  ??? ::) wtf. I kept saying get in a room and barricade the door its fuking simple.

28 weeks later is better than 28 days later, although they are two different types of movies. Dawn of the dead (2004) was better than both of those.

If you haven't seen them, 'The others', 'The exorcism of Emily Rose', 'Exorcist: the beginning' and 'Deep blue sea' are all good, although Deep blue sea is more an action movie than it is horror.

The others is one of the best horror movies ever - scary at times! And the other 2 movies aren't like the exorcist, although 'The beginning' actually has the same character (Father Merrin). In the original exorcist movie, he talks about doing an exorcism in Africa earlier in time and this movie is actually about that. There is also another movie called 'Dominion: prequel to the exorcist', which is the same as 'The beginning' (except, it was shot by a different director and has different actors). Dominion sucks, so make sure you get 'The beginning', which is a lot better.

And you must have seen 'The ring'. If not, it's pretty good too, although it's sequel sucks. Dawn of the dead and all the Resident evil movies are pretty good too.

The exorcism of emily rose is decent i like the ending, the ring was fuking retarded in my mind i kept saying i would punt the bitches head if i saw her crawling out of a TV thats the problem with alot of horror movies shit just doesnt make any sense...Dawn of the dead was a great movie, shaun of the dead was hillarious as well.

Shame you feel that way - I love that movie. IMO, it's one of those timeless ones - nicely done without any CGI or props and the twist at the end was pretty good too.

BTW, I get the feeling you probably aren't gonna like Exorcist: The beginning and Emily Rose, given what you've said so far. I saw 'The reaping' recently, which was OK and very similar to the likes of The Wicker Man and The skeleton key.

The Mist and Ruins have to be in my top 20 worst movies of ALL TIME!  The Ruins was ridiculously bad.  But then again Blindness was pretty bad as well.

One of the coolest horror movies to have come out in the last few years was the Cave with the women that go spelunking.  Also there was a Norwegian movie I just saw called Cold Prey.  It was pretty good ala Michael Myers type of horror movie but the background i.e. where the story takes place is really cool.  An old abandoned ski village in the mountains.

I love The Mist and I thought The Ruins was so-so. As for the spelunking movie, I think you are confusing The Cave with The Descent. They are almost similar, except, The Descent is a lot better and has only females in the main plot. The Cave had Cole Hauser playing the main role and wasn't too shabby either.

BTW, The Descent 2 is coming out in a couple of months - I'm looking forward to it.

Just been watching a lot of sci-fi lately, man. Have you seen 'Phantoms' with Ben Affleck? That wasn't too bad. I'll think of some more and post some titles a bit later.
