I remember a million years ago when I was in shape I did 27 with 225.  And I couldnt do a max with 400 let alone 500.   Now I'd be lucky if I could stare at 225 pounds without falling over

hahahhahaha........I wonder why these assholes (NFL) kept thinking that the 225lbs bench is the barometer of strenght and this has gotten a lot of powerlifters in the community pissed off.....lol

And it won't help him one tiny bit.

it might.

one day someone might try him at qb.....then suddenly coaches realise he has ability to stretch plays. It's happened before.

I went to the University of FL and I'm a die hard Gator fan, but I laughed at guys telling me earlier this year that Percy Harvin could bench 420.  He put up 19 reps at the combine and guys were telling me that equals a 450 lb bench.  BULLSHIT.

i wouldn't call 400 lbs a stretch for him...he's stocky type build and well built

I used to be able to bench 225 for about 25 reps.

It doesn't "equal" anything but 225 for 25.

There are powerlifters, etc. who think there is some fucking equation.

Some guys with huge singles can't do reps.

Some guys with great reps can't do singles.

Some guys run distance, some do sprints....

Having difficulty in choosing the correct soundtrack for the feat.

Don`t know if I should go dramatic and bold or nonchalant and humble.

In the meanwhile, here is a little popular diddy from Joan Morrissey.

When should we be expecting this feat then?  Should I go bump the original thread?!

kickers don't  usually earn shit, but Robbie Gould became the highest paid kicker in the NFL, agreeing to a five-year, $15.5 million contract extension with the Chicago Bears that includes a $4.25 million signing bonus on Monday.

lt started lifting weights his last two years in the league when his natural ability started to fade. on a similar note dick buttkiss of the bears couldn't even bench 225 for a single yet he along with lt were two of  footballs best linebackers.

One of my favorite L.T. stories was when Parcells told him that there were 16 mandatory workout days with a $1000.00 fine per missed workout.L.T. pulled out his checkbook and wrote him a check for $16,000 on the spot. ;D

Butkiss didn't know any better because no one lifted weights back then.  Butkiss would not be what he was then in todays game without some form of strength building.  Pretty much everyone lifts weights in the NFL now and they have to.  You think it's easy for lb's to shed the blocks of 300 ol's....or for ss' to tackle  guys 40 lbs heavier than them?

Weight training is a huge part of the game now and if they knew that then they would have done it more. I should say strength building is a big deal now, because it's all about functional usable strength.
