NBC/WSJ poll shows gap between popularity of president and his policies
WASHINGTON - After Barack Obama's first six weeks as president, the American public's attitudes about the two political parties couldn't be more different, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds.
Despite the country's struggling economy and vocal opposition to some of his policies, President Obama's favorability rating is at an all-time high. Two-thirds feel hopeful about his leadership and six in 10 approve of the job he's doing in the White House.
"What is amazing here is how much political capital Obama has spent in the first six weeks," said Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff. "And against that, he stands at the end of this six weeks with as much or more capital in the bank."

Exactly,an NBC news poll. Can you imagine?

I could care less about stupid polls from people who cant even tie their shoes on or are looking for welfare like 240 is.
I care deeply about this cap and trade scheme, card check, welfare orgies, and all of the
anti-business policies this communist organizer is pushing.
240 is one of the most hard working dudes on these forums, believe me. He is not looking for welfare. He doesn't really take sides.
-
Ha ha. 240 has had knee pads on for Obama for months and refuses to even once even express concern ove rthe outright insanity Obama is pursuing.
There be method to his madness, believe me.

Obama appeals to the lowest common denominator, class warfare.
He himself has ZERO economic education, history, understanding, and approaches everything from a purely radical left point of view.
There is simply no other credible reason why someone in this this time of economic mess, that a president would pursue cap and trade, card check, tax increases, huge govt deficits, etc.
Bush sucked too. They all suck.

Most here acknowledge that, and it can't be used as the answer to everything questionable Obama does.

Hardly. People like Coach sucked Bush's balls and now vomits at Obama. They all suck with a few exceptions: Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader...
-
That does not cut it anymore. Blaming Bush for four years is what a 10 year old would do. that is what I expect out of the white house.
I just find it utterly amazing that this brilliant harvard educated professor/lawyer genius who campaigned against Bush 24/7 for two years morphed into GWB on roids within a month of taking office.
Obama is GWB on roids.
Yes GWB sucked, but the magnitude of what Obama is doing now eclipses everything Bush did over 8 years. The stimilus alone costs more than Iraq/Afghanistan combined!
You want to find the real blame? Look outside of the White House. Look at the Military Industrial Complex, the Medical Industrial Complex and people like Alan Greenspan. The man in the White House serves these interests.
-
That's fine, but that does not mean it is ok to completely overlook the marxist agenda Obama is rapidly pursuing that will turn a very bad situation into an absolute financial Katrina.
Cap & Trade
Card Check
Ending Welfare Reform
Tax Increases
Spending recklessly
These are all job destroynig things that are pure insanity.
Yeah, it all sucks but the stuff mentioned above is a million times worse because it got us into this mess.

We've been in this mess for decades. Overspending and overtaxing. Bush was wrong to spend on a war we couldn't afford. Obama is wrong to spend stimulus money and push through social programs we can't afford.

Well put...
-
Obama is GWB on roids.
Very well put. Just like FDR was Hoover on roids. Although GWB wasnt near as bad as Hoover. Obama is looking to be every bit as bad as FDR. Actually, I think GWB's record on the economy is at worst mixed.

Obama's spending is certainly on roids.
His approval rating has dropped to 58% in the last large poll I saw. Thats still unbelievably high considering the shit they are pulling.
