Can you have Jezebelle make us a Pizza if I'm ever in the area?  We could further discuss Adonis Principles.

I especially like where the cheese is slightly browned in here and there.

Since the restaurants in Columbus here close before 11:30 for food, that is what we had last night at 1am!

alright....this is a good thread to ask this.  All you damn yankees that are constantly talking about how great NY pizza is, explain why.  Is NY better than Chicago pizza?  I've heard Chicago is better.  What is the difference?  Please educate a transplanted hillbilly.

Don't let me down getbiggers....speak on this!

Deep dish is eaten w/ a fork and is almost like a pie. NYC/Philly anywhere w/ a lot of Dago hand toss the dough which makes it chewier. That first pizza posted looked like that Greek shit they just press into pans and make it crispy. That shit sucks. The one I posted is a place near me that throw it up in the air and everything.

So it being really handtossed is the good stuff, right?  I hate the thin crispy crap.  When I was stationed in Germany there was a restaurant owned by some off the boat italians.  They did the whole hand toss thing and had a big domed clay oven.  that pizza was to die for.  I'm guessing it's similar to the NY/Philly style here in the states?

Ditto. And I'd also like to add that only fags eat pizza with a fork.

Yes kiwi, I agree.  A shovel on occasion, but no forks!

You can't eat a deep dish pizza w/o a fork. It's like 3" high and heavy.

BSB, I did my outprocessing from the service in Philly, so I was there for a few weeks.  The philly cheese steaks met all the hype.  Incredible.

I think they are in a sad state right now in the city. It's easy to find a "good" steak. It's very hard to find one that just makes searching for it worth it.

Did you try scrapple or soft pretzels?

I've had the pleasure of having both..

I have tried "Gino's East" in Chicago, and Pepe's New Haven Style Pizza.

Chicago style pizza is deep dish, whereas NY style is hand tossed.

I made the mistake by ordering "NY Style" pizza at Gino's East, and it tasted like shit :-X :-X

All the Chicago pizza is more filling, NY style is the best.

for THE best pizza, try Anthonys in Brooklyn, Pizza Plus in Natick Mass (try an egg and pepper grinder), or the restaurant on top of Seibu department store in Tokyo.

In Scottsdale, try Rays, in Chandler NYPD

In South Miami, Steves Pizza

hope this helps!

I've never had Chicago pizza :'(,
but if you ask any transplanted East Coaster and they will tell you that the bread itself is just not as good as what they were use to.

I was there in the mid 90's, and the ones I had were damn good.  I had a few pretzels.  Not any scrapple.  What is that exactly?

The dough is made different. I believe it's almost more like pie crust.

all pizza in rochester NY sucks a fat one.  There must be something in the water.  Pizza and bagels from Manhattan and Brooklyn just taste better than everywhere else i've been .

Have you ever left the state of NY?

yes, I was born in Los Angeles, Lived in Framingham MAss, Jersey, manhattan, Long island, west palm beach, and I have travelled to every state except Alaska.

Best pizza I ever had was Tony's pizza in Brownsville Brooklyn, with Ancona Pizza in Valley Stream (East Nassau County) as a close second.

Rochester is in NY, and the pizza here sucks.  Just greasy bread with cheese melted on it, canned sauce.  I would rather eat frozen digiorno pizza than this shit here.
