I agree here. Iran is the one to watch. China wants to make money and look, they can't even invade a small Island that they claim they want back. Either they really don't care..my guess..or they can't. Russia is a joke..with nukes..but a joke...and they really desire closer ties with the West. They would also like their dignity back, which explains the recent bs they've been doing. Iran has its issues with the nukes and Israel will smoke them if it feels threathened. I think nKorea is the one to watch for the next several weeks. We're hearing that the army is starving and that birth defects have exploded.

With the new ruler in RUSSIA at the helm I am sure his finger rests on THE BUTTON even in his sleep. He knows america learns in one way and in one way only...DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. We are not dumb enough to attack Iran right now. Atleast I hope not. It would literally collapse our economy overnight and fuel terrorism around the world like we've never seen. Russia has just entered into agreements to sell Iran its nuclear fuel for the next few years. It would not sit well with them if we started destroying their nuclear facilities. Plus Russia controls a large amount of natural gas going to Western Europe. They could squeeze Europe if they had to. As far as China they are not stupid and realize that we are in a very precarious situation economically and are taunting us.

Iran is best left to collapse from within. We aren't attacking Iran. The Israeli's might. Russia won't be able to do shit if Israel bombs the sites, but protest in the UN. They aren't in any postion to project power beyond their limited sphere of influence. Plus Russia wants to be a world player, it needs cash and some of what Muscles said is correct. (may I burn in hell) They have plenty of natural gas. They need both customers and folks to pull out untapped sources. China is in the same boat. They can control or influence Asia through trade. Their economic zones were built by the West. They were planned by Western firms and we're heavily invested there. Going to war isn't an option for either side. Both of these countries can play games..but not at the risk of losing markets.
Korea on the other hand...nobody knows what goes through Kim's mind. Their current rumblings are because they want direct talks with Obama, which is against current US policy. We want China involved as well as our allies the Japanese and the Republic of Korea. The Japs hate the North and would love to see em drop dead. China doesn't know whether to shit or go blind with them either. They are prepared for a massive refugee problem. The US expects Chinese troops to "invade" and create a buffer zone inside nK, to try and stem the tide, should the North fall apart like East Germany. SK really wants to avoid that senario as the North is like a 12th century country.

I'm in Korea as part of the team evaluating the exercises, for the US. Army, that are pissing off the midget. They (nK) reopened the border to allow about 400 people who were visting, to leave. The Japs will shoot that thing down if it tilts 1 degree.

If you want to go into military talk, nuclear missiles aren't much when they get intercepted over Europe or in space. Their military is mostly outdated and not a real threat, especially to a country that is on the other side of the ocean.

Most of their ballistic missiles technology is pretty old and the US intercepting technology is very advanced.
If we are talking missiles only than it's not as big as a threat as some think, but obviously that with nukes only one mistake need to be done for it do huge damage.
I'm actually more afraid of some suicide atomic ship/sub/civilian vehicle than ballistic missiles.
You should really look up some of the new intercepting technologies, but what can I expect from someone who can't do a simple kinematic equation to see WTC7 didn't fall at free fall speed ::)

Russia is a lost cause. Putin and the Russians know the US will eventually have to fight China (and China is already "teasing" the US, militarily speaking of course) and they will greatfully play the spectator card for years to come.
The Chinese, it's no secret, want the US' spot in the international stage. Everyone keeps talking about Iran and all the Muslim countries, but the ones that will attack us in the future, and I have no doubt of this, are the Chinese. As of the past few years they've made public in various ocasions that they want the US out of the area (remember the spy plane incident? No more bases in the Philipines? Inviting a US navy ship to leave international waters close to China just this week?).
Iran is the scapegoat. We have no beef with Iran and the Iranians have no beef with us. We buy their oil and they are happy to sell it to us. Bush and the neocons come in and fuck up this blowback-free equation. Now we have another enemy. Fuck Iran and fuck Israel.
