WTF? dry and detailed but damn :-X :-X :-X

I was never a fan of Mattarazzo. Great calves ... but, in my opinion, that's really about it. I remember reading about Mike's diet ... he said something along the lines of, " I eat 3 to 4 pounds of meat a day ( this is not verbatim ... but certainly close to what he said ) ... " ... perhaps this is what led him to his downfall. Obviously Steroids as well. :-\

Awesome arms too but that's about it , never a really great competitive bodybuilder
-
Often times, the guys with great arms have chests or backs that are lacking (levrone and heath come to mind). Matarazzo also said he used to eat a jar of peanut butter a day. thats pretty funny.

He had great genetics for big calves, his arms were huge, but lacked detail, and his front wasn't the best. His back wasn't wide, and had detail, but lacked the Rand-McNally look that Dorian, Ray, Flex, and Cormier had

look at his delts.
Hes probably natural

True, and some with great chests have bad arms (Ruhl and Arnold both had small triceps...)
-
If you didn't look too carefully you might think that was Dennis Wolf's back on the left there - good upper back but nonexistent lower half

Actually, Kev's chest pror to his pec tear was real good, plus he got props for coming in with a very much improved back (Dorian even aid so)

Mike was totally under rated and usually competed in fantastic conditioning!

I got the chance to speak to him at a show and i remember seeing that he did eat four to five pounds of meat per day and he said, "Yes, i eat that much meat per day." Very nice guy and under appreciated.

how does Mr. Levrone come to your mind when thinking of weak back or chest?
E
-
he developed some arterial blockage over the years. He ended up having a triple bypass. Everything was plugged up. Some is genetics, but genetic faults can be excacerbated with excess.

He had good chest shape, but it was overpowered by his arms and shoulders. His back was also not that impressive. He got owned in most back shots.

i don't see how it was overpowered

"how did he have a heart attack?"
He said in a muscle mag he used to eat 4-5 pounds of red meat per day, PLUS his HDL was 0 for a while!!

I won't take back what I said. He did, in fact, have some BIG arms ... but I didn't personally find them " great ". Just my two cents, Mike. :-\

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion (Mike Matarazzo was known tho for having great arms and calves)
i concur with this

Mike was totally under rated and usually competed in fantastic conditioning!
One of his problems was that he very rarely came in condition.

Munzer never got quite what he deserved in BBing IMO. He didnt have the best structure, but damn....he had a great blend of size and unmatched conditioning.

he had a family history of heart problems so they would have come along at some point anyway but the meat eating and general lifestyle a pro bodybuilder lives obviously aren't conducive to good heart health if the heredity isn't in your favor to begin with.
