I went to the gym on Saturday and it was practically empty. I was on the exercise bike making phone calls, then this guy who works at the gym (counter person) taps me on the back and tells me that there are no phones allowed. I looked around and was like "dude, I am the only one here other than that old dude with headphones on?" He walks away. I did notice that this guy was 'training' to become a trainer. He was shadowing other trainers and i bet he was doing his hardest to kiss up to management so he can get a position. Thus, telling member to follow rules that no one abide by and racking up weights was his ticket to personal trainer paradise. ::) So I get to work today to relay the message to my broskies who work out there too, then one of them said that on Sunday he was doing deads when the 'guy' walked up to him. He asked "what are you training for?" then my boy was like "what do you mean? Im training for myself? " then the trainer wanna be as like ... "Yea, deadlifts are a pretty much useless exercise" then he walked away. I went to the gym just now and asked the trainers "hey what do you think about this statement 'deadlifts are pretty much a pointless exercise'..." they all looked at me and chuckled. The one big trainer bro was like "thats the best exercise period", another was like "its good for sports but you can use other machines if you cant deadlift but its not pointless" then in snitch fashion they asked who said that and I was like "that fat fuck who is trying to take your jobs" hahahha
As I left I saw that he was brought into an office and got yelled at for such buffoonery. I was told not to tell anyone that he said that, i told them no problem. ;) ;) ;) ;) oh yeah did i mention that this guy is fat. hahahaah

what gym is this?

Deadlifts are useless for Bodybuilders.
For Powerlifters of course they are a necessity.

Disagree. I only lift for ladies and I love deadlifts. They destroy my entire back and especially my traps giving me the wide thick upperback/traps area batista look.
-
Deadlifts build big hamstrings/glutes waist, hips and blockyness in general.
fixed

I have pretty much ONLY done deadlifts, plus one or two other exercises every now or then, for the past 2 years. What's my point? Don't know other than I love doing them. :D

JaeJonna, I agree with you that the guy who said deads are useless is an idiot. But I have to disagree with you about the phone stuff. I hate how people have to always be on the phone everywhere. I don't think my gym has an anti cell phone rule but now I think I might suggest it.

Dude you aren't fat, but if you aren't super skinny than basically any other pose than the vacuum will make you look a lot better.

Good bodyfat percentage, easy to maintain all year.
Easy to cut down a little for vacation

Any exercise that has the word 'rows" in it. And yes of course deadlifts, but again not necessary. When I do deads I prefer a trap bar.

I got better overall growth in my back doing different rows, not when i was deadlifting constantly. I think a combo is best.

You allways had that natural tickness and decent shape. The schmoe regret that your are not ripped, the tools will bash but are jealous and guys who train hard will tell you that you have some solid potential.
I'll tell you myself that you consistently post decent pics and are highly ranked in my book.
Epic Respect.

It's fine to bring your phone into the gym JJ. I have literally dropped dumbbells midset to answer a call. Working out is a fun social activity but when you are expecting a call either to get pussy or a business call, you need to have some perspective on what's important. Especially considering you were riding the bike at the time, fuck that fat pos.

How much do you deadlift danielson?
-
I don't know if deadlifting is vital or not, but I like just because I feel good when I'm done. Like I actually worked hard which I can't say for many exercises. :-\
-
"gimmick accounts are totally pointless".
What's your opinion on this, Jaejonna?
-
I hate deadlifts with a passion because I hurt my back doing them wrong when I was a kid.
However, I do try and incorporate them into my back workouts after all my rowing movements because I know that they do work and you've got to put the effort in. I did them yesterday and I only worked up to three plates a side, but it was perfect form and my back is nice and sore today.
-
How much do you deadlift danielson?
I don't know. Not more than 275 in a while. Probably 350 or so I guess. Not something I would max out on.
-
racking up weights was his ticket to personal trainer paradise. ::)
Great story JJ. This was my favorite line....."personal trainer paradise..." hahahah, had me rolling.

You're a fat Paki. Why does it matter what you write?
-
Deadlifts aren't any more necessary than any other exercise or exercise itself, but if your goal is to have a thick, powerful back and pile on as much mass as you can on your physique, there isn't any other upper body exercise that comes close in comparison. I always deadlift every back workout and attribute my gains to it more than any other exercise, even though I do plenty of heavy barbell and T bar rows, and chins.

Only person who should have their phone with them in the gym is a Dr. who is On call.

i have a very simple rule - i dont say shit to anyone bigger than me in the gym - if someone can talk on their phone and get bigger than me more power to em - i should be trying to learn from them not bashing them - its a respect thing! - if im unfocussed enough to let someone else mess up my lifting while theyre on a bike i got issues anyways. im sure that guy will make a great PT - he will have people playing with big rubber bands and jumping up and down on and off benches like an idiot in no time! and i love deadlifts - deadlifts and squats always make me feel like i kicked my own ass!

Deadlifts are useless for Bodybuilders.
And to think, all that waisted energy by Ronnie ::)
-
deadlifts are great. having said that, I haven't done them consistently for like 10 yrs. They tear me up too much. I feel all tired and hungry for several days. Considering I train for fun and nothing else, I stopped doing them. Don't really care what people think about it
-
Well, well, well...
I can't think of another exercise that actually works every single fucking muscle in the body...
Now, whether or not you dipshits can work them into your routine safely and logically is another story entirely.
