So if someone got REALLY fat for a couple years but has now lost 50lbs and still losing and really wants to have a flat stomach, what should he do? Should I just wait and eventually I will get lean enought that the stomach distencion will go away or do I have to do certain exercises and eat certain foods?

you just need to keep getting leaner.
the disetnsion may be genetic, or it may be becaus eyou never trained abs (?)... make sure to train your abs really heavy and consistantly

It could also be due from becoming insulin resistant due to being overweight. But should subside as you lose weight. Also work out your abs and practice doing vacuums.

Eat light,ie.,never leave the table feeling full.
7-8 really small meals and double up on water/liquid intake......you`d be surprised how much bloat you can lose if you drink tons of water.
