Title: Taking time off from training
Post by: ozman on March 18, 2009, 12:02:06 PM
I have been feeling flat this week

no energy and my strength is down

is it true your central nervous system can take a beating from too much training ?

I haven't taken a week off in 5 months

If you believe it will do your body good then why not?

I'll be taking a nice two-week break from training over Easter - it'll be the first break I've had since I took a week off at Christmas. I never worry about muscle atrophy because for the amount of time you take off, it will take that amount of time again to get back up to speed.

If you are beat up i would take a week off. You won't lose any size or strength and you'll be recharged when you get back.

A week of probably in order after 5 months straight. Gives your body a nice rest and you will be back in a week feeling refreshed and ready for more training.

I'm currently halfway through a weeks break as we speak...

I haven't taken a week off since May 08 and I feel great.

I don't need breaks either really. I've just been going this week using lighter weights and getting a pump, but i haven't had a true break with no weights or cardio since around x-mas 2007.
