I do 8 reps with 4 wheels on either side, is that respectable ??? :-[ My grip starts to fail before my back and legs.
I'm going to keep increasing the weight untill i can get 6 wheels either side for 8 reps then i'm gonna stick on it. I'm gonna do this with bench press aswell when i get to 3 wheels either side. No point going any higher because you will wind up getting injured.

That's a good lift.
The best i have done is 4 plates a side for 4 with straps.
-
5 plates a side for atleast 1.
-
500 for 1 rep is correct.

I would say the same - well, for me anyway seeing as I'm shit at deadlifts. I've never hit the magical five plates a side.

Dead lifts are pretty much a pointless exercise

I have always been good at deadlifts (relative to my other lifts), maybe it's because i'm 6ft.2, i think i heard that being taller is an advantage in this one lift. Once the weight is a few inches off the floor i have no problem getting it up, it's the initial drive i find hardest.
I'm shit at squats though.
:(
-
that makes no sense, the closer you are to the ground the easier it is to deadlift hahah method101 is talking out of his ass again

I read somwhere that being taller up to a point helps your deadlift.......

Long arms and short legs is the ideal structure for the deadlift
-

BULLSHIT tell me you're not claiming 500 ::) you're colon would shoot across the gym
-
anything over 4 plates is respectable...... i can stop deadlifting for months and move 4plates.. ive done reps with 5 and got a treble with 6 on a power rack
-
i never believed in deadlifts

I concur

Tree fitty ain't bad.
-
Anyone who can pull 5 plates a side or more is very strong.
-
All depends on a persons bodyweight.
A fat fuck who weighs 400 pounds doing 405 for 8 is not strong relative to his bodyweight.

anything over 350 is not needed if you are bb yea it looks good and its good for the ego but not needed...

Usually the ratio for a respectable DL is 2X your bwt, just about the same for the squat. A 200lb guy than does 400. Exceptional DL would be 2 1/2 times your bwt.

Layne Norton deadlifted 3x his bodyweight.
:o
-
2 reps 4 wheels on each side is the best I ever did - 4 wheels are like the magic weight on deadlift - I had to take 3 month off due
to my wrist but I am back to 3 1/2 wheels on each side x 6 reps.

Try deadlifting while standing on a 6" box. It will help with your intitial drive.
You're welcome, Methhead101.
