I have just found out that my good friend Serge Nubret has been in a coma for the last 3 days in a Paris hospital! As yet the Doctors have not found what caused this. Aparently he came round briefly this morning but he had very little brain acivity. They are now keeping him sedated and continuing tests. Serge had just achieved 4% bodyfat at nearly 16 stone at 70 years old and had agreed to guest pose at the 2009 Mr Olympia contest. Here's hoping he didn't push himself too hard.
Get well soon Serge.

I hope that Serge makes a quick recovery, this man is bodybuilding, he has lived almost his entire life as a bodybuilder and has always been in great shape, to see him on stage at the 2009 Olympia will be something special!

No disrespect to Serge but if this is true, this is not the first time he's pushed the envelope like this. He ran a contest here in Redondo Beach about 10 or 12 years ago. About 4 days before the contest he was in the hospital. Something heart related was the rumor. He checked himself out of the hospital and guest posed at his own show. He started faltering onstage and we all thought he was going to pass out right there. Training and being in shape at 70 is great but good sense has to take a step above ego. I wish Serge well.

Bitches. Serge style.

I hope he recovers.

wishing Serge and his family all the best!

Serge, please don't die for us bitches, we don't deserve it. Get well soon.

I disagree, if the man is 70 and willing to push it this far, all the power to him. Most men at the age need help changing their diaper.
Even in most nursing homes with men this age with diabetes the staff is taught to let them eat sugar if they want. When you are past 70 you have earned the right to do whatever the fuck you want with your own body!

That's if incontinence, etc. hasn't yet shown up. :-\

He won't recover?

from what I hear, this is not something sudden or related to any guest posing preparation. He's been ailing for a while, and the illness has simply progressed to the next stage.

Anything you can mention, Tim? Something to do with the dark under his eyes?
-
:(
he should stop training so hard at 70 imo
-
My best wishes to Nubret!

Great to see so many nice comments, I will pass them on. Those of you making "funnies" or negative comments - Shame on you. This is the man that both Ben Weider and Arnold said was THE best bodybuilder on the planet.
Latest news - Serge did open his eyes today, but again, no responses. He now remains heavily sedated. Still no news from the extensive tests.

Get off your high horse dude. We're just having fun at his expense. That's not a crime.
-
Serge always had class as well as one of the best physiques on the planet. He seems too young to go now, it's not his time yet I hope.

any news?
I have been told Serge is out of the coma after 9 days, but very tired. He has slight movement and can feel. He cannot speak at the moment but he tries to communicate, they think he understands when they speak to him.
I hope to have more news soon.

Bump!
how is serge?
-
Serge is being comforted by family and friends.
I think he could leave a lasting legacy if he decides 'finally' to answer truthfully on his usage rates!
-

Glad to hear he has opened his eyes. Hoepfully he can recover to point where he can make it to the Mr. Olympia...
-
Fuck Serge. To this day he lies and claims he was natural. SCUMBAG.

his health is in question and all you can think of is the Mr. Olympia?
what are you, 11 years old?
-

His goal was to guestpose, I said hopefully he can MAKE it to the MR. O. there is a difference. something that he would like to see.
My grandfather who is dead know, had a stroke before I was born, his goal was to get better to see me born. Same thing prior to my sister and brother, those were his goals. After he held my brother, he died a few months later.
If people have goals, and then they become sick, it is good to encourage them to get better to at least actualize part of that goal. It gives them motivation.
